Fall Friend

A quick post for you all today! This is a card I made last month for my AAA swap on splitcoast. We were to make a card for the recipient in their favorite fall colors, they chose two, and we could add a neutral. My little acorn's favorite fall colors are old olive and orange, I used pumpkin pie.

I used the retired SU spectrum pad called pumpkin patch. I stamped the leaves with the spectrum pad randomly and then over stamped them again with the weathered BG stamp in chocolate chip. I also used the spectrum pad to stamp the sentiment panel, I love this stamp from the SU All Holidays set, it is the main reason I bought that set.

I am going to a friends house tonight for some stamping fun and laughs!!! Can't wait!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

CASED Cards

Good Afternoon Peeps!! So sorry for the late post. I had a very busy morning at work!

Today's cards are both CASED Cards. The first one here is a case of one in the SU Catalog, on page 143, I think, don't have my book here with me so I can't check that to be sure.

I changed a couple of things, I used stamps where they used rub-ons for the flowers. I used the small flower stamp from the SU Eastern Bloom set. Stamped with versamark on old olive, riding hood red and so saffron paper and embossed with white embossing powder. I then cut them out and mounted them on the white PTI cardstock with a pop dot. Then I used my trusty stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the words from the SU set Absolutely Fabulous. I also used a different DS paper and added a layer of chocolate chip behind the DS paper and the main image panel. It is all mounted on a piece of old olive card stock. A sweet little thank you card!

This next card is a direct CASE of
this beauty by Sharon Johnson aka notimetostamp on splitcoast. A great masculine birthday card. I love the star punches and don't use them nearly enough. The DS paper is from the Urban Garden pack, I love the colors in that pack and have used them alot, I need to order a new pack before it retires.

Well, that is it for today.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy Stamping!

Merry & Bright

Good Wednesday morning Peeps! I really love today's card, I don't generally say that, and lately I have not been "feeling" any card I make, but this one turned out awesome!

I used paper I just got from PTI and it is amazing! I love the metallic blue. You can't really see the shimmer of the paper in the picture, but it is beautiful.

The ornament is made with the reverse masking technique. I cut a circle with my coluzzle is a scrap piece of paper, discarded the circle and used the negative piece. I used some temporary glue to attach the mask to my PTI white card stock. Sponged lightly with night of navy inside the circle and then again putting a heavier concentration of ink closer to the edges. Then I inked up the stamp from SU's Season of Joy, again with night of navy, and stamped it inside the circle, with the mask still attached. Removed the mask and decorated the ornament with silver cord, a small peice of the metallic blue cardstock for the top and then some blue grosgrain ribbon. Lots of layers and a cuttlebugged snowflake BG and the sentiment is from the SU set To you and Yours.

This is how the card looks in my mind:

Don't you love it?

Well, that's it for today! Thanks so much for stopping by, I won't have a post for you tomorrow, but I'll try and have something new on Friday!

Happy Thanksgiving friends!

Grateful

Good Tuesday morning peeps.

Today's card was made for the color challenge on splitcoast. The colors we were to use are going gray, very vanilla, and really rust. Such a pretty combo. The gray looks almost like silver and makes a very pretty fall card. I used the SU set Thoroughly Thankful. I stamped my main image. which is a collage type stamp, with black stazon on watercolor paper. I then used my aquapainter to color in the images. I then cut them apart and mounted them on a strip of really rust. The sentiment is from the so many words set, that I cut apart and mounted on junga type blocks last year. The base of the card is the going gray then a layer of very vanilla followed by a layer of really rust. I used the leaf and dot stamp from the same set to fill in the BG on the really rust piece. I stamped it with versamark. I also paper pieced the bottom and added some ribbon with a mini silver spiral clip and some silver sticky rhinestones.

That's it for today, I have to start some holiday baking tonight. What are you making? Tonight I am making a pumpkin roll and grinding my cranberries and covering them with some sugar to start my cranberry salad. Hope ya'll have a great day and Happy Stamping!

Punchy Penguin

Good Monday Morning Peeps!

Today I have another punchy item to show you. This time it is a penguin gift card holder and tag.

The gift card holder was made for the technique lover's challenge on
splitcoast. It is a pop up gift card holder and super simple to make! the penguin is made from punches, the one I saw used the wide oval SU punch, which I don't have yet, so I used my coluzzle, the third oval from the center, and it worked great. The rest is the other oval punches, the word window punch, and various circle punches and the three flower punch is used for the feet. I think he is adorable and I have a niece who is crazy about penguins so I will put her Christmas gift card in this one. She will love it!

Here is a view of it opened:

And another gift tag I made with him:

So do you love the punchy penguin? I know I do and he was easy peasy!

thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Punch Santa Tags

Good Saturday morning Peeps!! How is your weekend going?

Yesterday while I was blog surfing I came across these really cute Santa tags made with the SU scallop die, which I don't have, but I wanted to make some anyway and I thought I could use my Marvy scallop punch. Well, guess what? It worked great, must be close to the same size as the SU die.
I started by punching a scallop circle of blush blossom, real red and whisper white. the whisper white piece is folded in half, to create the tag that opens, the red circle is cut straight across at the ninth scallop , and the blush blossom circle is left whole to mount everything on. The eyes are 1/4" punch, the nose is the 1/2" punch the mustache is the 1" circle punch cut in half and the pink tongue is another 1/4" circle. The "fur" is made with the three for you flower punch. The pom-pom is a 3/4" circle punch in white. Aren't they adorable?

And a side view so you can see how the beard opens to write a message or to use as a name tag on a gift.

They make up very quick, I made these 6 in less than 30 minutes and that included searching for all the right punches and cardstock and tying on the silver cord. Now go make you a bunch!!

Have a great weekend and Happy Stamping!!

Warm Wishes 2 Ways

Good Friday Morning Peeps!!! It is a very cold day here and I am concentrating on staying warm. This big old building where I work is almost impossible to heat. The ceilings are so high and and all the heat is up there. I have a small heater by my feet, here behind the counter, so that helps some.

I have two cards to show you today, two versions of the same card actually. The first is made with baja breeze and some 'My Minds Eye' designer paper. It is amazing how well they match. I just got my Ice Crystal cuttle bug die, Thanks Lois, and the other smaller snowflakes are also cuttlebug dies I got last year at Hobby Lobby. I used a layout I saw on a blog somewhere for the design of the card, I need to write down where I see layouts, so I can give the proper credit.

The inside of the card:

I like to decorate the inside of my cards when I have time, finished inside and out, as they say!

The next card is made with always artichoke and some basic gray DS paper called figgy pudding.

I cut out my snowflakes with the cuttlebug dies and a chipboard coaster. Covered them with two way glue and dazzling diamonds. I wish the photo could capture the sparkle. It is so cool! I flipped the center strip to put the larger piece on the left side of the card. I also stamped the sentiment on a separate piece of paper and layered it with some more always artichoke and attached it with a couple of pop dots. I used the scallop edge punch to accent the sides of the strip, which is also paper from the figgy pudding pack by Basic gray. I think this one is my favorite, I like the rustic look of it.

The inside:

Which do you like better, the rustic or the bright?

Well, that's all I have for you today. I have alot of things to get done today and the rest of the weekend. Hope ya'll have a fun filled weekend doing all the things you like best. Happy Stamping!

Very Merry Snowman

Good Thursday morning! Hope you are in the mood for a snowman card. I can't stop with the snowmen cards and specifically this Penny Black snowman. I just love him and with the chilly weather we are having and the fact he is always laying on my desk, when I sit down to stamp, I reach for him!

I used the sketch on splitcoast for my layout of this card. The card is a 4 1/2 inch square followed by a slightly smaller square of SU brushed silver cardstock and then a square of whisper white. The corner squares are 1 inch night of navy and 1 1/4 inch square of silver. I used sickles on the ground under the snowman and clear rhinestones for some of the falling snow. The corners are decorated with silver sticky pearly rhinestones. The center piece is layered with navy and silver and mounted on dimensionals. My sentiment is made with the large and small oval punches. and mounted on an angle with a dimensional.

Hope the girls in my stamp group don't mind getting different cards for the Christmas card exchange, I have a hard time doing several of the same card, I get bored way to easy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!

Grateful

Happy Hump Day peeps! Half way through the work week!!!!

Are you getting tired of seeing these pumpkins, I love to watercolor them but I think I NEED to put the set away for the season. I am growing tired of it, and you have to know how much that pains me to say, I thought I would never tire of them! I woke up in the middle of the night with, for unknown reasons, the Pina Colda song in my head. Maybe my sub-conscious was try to tell me something.....you know that line..."Like a worn out copy of your favorite song".....maybe I should move on from the pumpkins.....good bye for now my dear friends!!!! LOL!!!!
The very last of my Thanksgiving cards, I will be mailing them out very soon.

This morning I made this Christmas card:

Is is over the top? Is there tooo much going on? To many fern branches, to many flower poinsettias? Just to much? If you are reading this and that is another question who is reading this? Leave me a comment, let me know what you think, good or bad, I need feedback, what are your thoughts on this card?

Well, that is it for today...I have been wanting to make some cocoa packet holders. I found a pattern for one that holds some gourmet type cocoa, that is in longer packets wish I could find some, I believe the one in the illustration is made by Land of Lakes, anyone know where I can find some?

Talk to you soon and Happy Stamping!

Another Merry & Bright

Good Morning Peeps!! It is another chilly day in Missouri! Some hot chocolate sounds really good right now!!

My card for today is another made with this cute SU set called Merry & Bright. I seem to be on a snowman kick lately. I love snowmen, they are all so cute and I want all the snowmen stamps I see!!! I wanted to play around with my top note die, I haven't used it much at all since I got it, except for the Frankenstein boxes. I cut one out of each of the three DS paper I used and one out of chocolate chip. Trimmed the three to be almost even and layered them onto the chocolate chip, really I just layered the two end pieces, the one in the middle is a full die cut. I trimmed the edge on the DS paper die, so the chocolate piece would show as trim. The rest is fairly simple, but I like the results, it is bright and cheery. Another Christmas card done. I really don't like to pick one design to make all my Christmas cards, I get bored tooooo easily, so I just make one or two of alot of different designs. I think this card is all SU, well except for the chocolate brads and the cuttlebug embossing folder, ok so it is NOT all SU, but close for me!

That is all I have for you today, I have been feeling un-inspired the last few days, so I don't know what I'll have for you in the AM, but I'll work on something. Until then Happy Stamping!

Let It Snow

Happy Monday peeps! Glad you stopped by today. My card today is made for Beate's Weekend sketch Challenge. I again picked an image that was a little toooo big for the sketch, so I had to stretch it a bit, but I just love this Penny Black snowman, he is one of my all time favorites. I do love all snowmen tho!!! I had a hard time getting a good photo of this card, don't know why, but I must have taken 20 pictures, just to get this one, not so great photo. I just love night of navy and bashful blue for snow/winter cards don't you? I added some stickles on the ground and to the side of the snowman, it is not showing to much in the photo but it is there. The card is really cute in person, the photo just doesn't do it justice. The sentiment is from some of those Wal-Mart clear stamp sets I have been showing you. I stamped it with versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I had to add one of my favorite touches for any card and that is piercing. The card is fairly simple, not much stamping, just the little snowman and a little gray down one side for some shadow and depth, and just a little pumpkin pie for the nose. Alot of layering and foo-foo and I am a happy girl!!! LOL!!!

Well, that is it for today, thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!

Christmas Topiary

Happy Saturday morning to you! Hope you all are having a good weekend. I am scheduling this entry to post on Saturday so with some luck you are seeing it!! Keeping my fingers crossed that this works.

On to the card.......Have you seen some of these floating around? This cute little topiary made with the SU large and small punches. I had to give it a try. I wanted mine to be like a Christmas topiary, so I stamped snowflakes on the punched out stars and on the pot. The pot is made with punches as well. The 1 3/8 inch square punch and the word window punch. I tapered the sides of the square just a little. I also used the 1/4 inch circle punch for the faux berries on the topiary. Isn't it cute. I love the country feel of this card. The felt ribbon and that cute checked paper from the bella rose pack just makes it feel 'country', to me anyway! The card is larger than I usually make and I don't know what kind of envelope I will find for it. The base is 6 1/4 inches tall by 4 1/4 inches wide. This is a piece of riding hood red I had found in my scraps and it was already this size, so I just went with it! What do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a great rest of the weekend! Happy Stamping!

Riding Hood Red Apples

Good Friday morning peeps. Another rainy dreary day here in Missouri. It is suppose to turn really cold later today! Yeah winter!!!

Today's card is another I made with this borrowed set, I may never return it, you think my friend will notice? Probably!! LOL!!! I thought I would watercolor some more, big surprise huh, and I had some riding hood red paper out on my desk from my last project so I decided my apples would be the ones the Little Red Riding Hood was taking to her grandma. The had to be dark and juicy, I started by laying down a base of certainly celery, funny huh, but most apples have some green tones in them, of course not all, but mine do anyway. Then went over that with some real red and finally riding hood red. They look yummy don't they? I kept the rest of the card simple, the base is a 4 1/4 inch square of riding hood red that I ran through the cuttlebug with the swiss dot embossing folder. added some tabs at the top and bottom with the word window punch and some brads. Stamped my sentiment on a separate piece of watercolor paper with black stazon, cut it out and it is held on with one of the cute little mini library clips. the center panel is up on dimensionals. A nice fall card to send to my neighbor with a jar of my homemade apple butter!

Well that is all for today, I have my stamp camp to go to tonight, I am excited for that! Hope ya'll have a fun weekend planned. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Very Merry Elves

Good Thursday morning peeps, or as we like to call it around our house Friday eve!!! The sun is finally shinning and the temps are moving up! YEAH!!! I love winter, but not the dreary days!!

My card today is a combo, for the sketch challenge and Ways to use it Challenge on splitcoast. The sketch is a version of one seen here. The ways to use it challenge was to use watercolor paper in our design. I stamped the elves from the SU Holiday Lineup set in black stazon on my watercolor paper. I colored them in with an aquapainter and ink in blush blossom, real red, old olive and a little basic gray. I used some liquid applique on the hats to look like pom-poms. I also used watercolor paper to stamp the sentiment on and to punch out the snowflakes. The watercolor paper is just a bit to heavy for punching out those snowflakes and I was afraid at one point I had broke my punch, but DH came to the rescue was able to get the snowflakes punched and not break the punch, but I will not try that again. I used last years DS paper called Dashing for my colors, those elves just have to be dressed in red and green, in my opinion. I think this card is just a little over the top, I just couldn't stop adding to it, the brads, the ribbon the snowflakes the bling!!!! LOL!!! Anita if you are reading this, how do my knots look, I have been practicing!!!!

Well, that's all for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Here are a few more Wal-Mart stamps I got last night.

More Baskets and an Inspiration Challenge

Good Wednesday morning peeps. Hope ya'll are having a good one. It is still cold and dreary here!

Well, yesterday, after posting my woven baskets I was looking around and at some other baskets and found this tutorial for a very simple basket. I had to give it a try last night. They are so quick and fun. I am going to use these at my Thanksgiving dinner, at each place setting, with just a little bit of homemade pumpkin fudge in each. I had wanted to put each person's name on the basket, but couldn't really figure that one out. These are really small, but work up so quickly!!

Also today I have a card I made for Beate's Inspiration Challenge. I just took my inspiration from the cute little birds, they made me think of this SU Season of Friendship Set, that has a cute little bird. I know my card is a far stretch from the inspiration piece, but I wanted to do a fall/thanksgiving card, so I just used a couple of the colors, riding hood red and pumpkin, they are there you just have to look closer! LOL!

Well, that all I have for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Baskets!

Good Tuesday morning!!! Hope you are all having a great day so far!

Yesterday morning I was going through a folder I have of some tutorials and projects I printed out off the net from various places, of things I wanted to do or try sometime and came across the tutorial for making paper baskets. I printed this out from
here last February or March. I have a great love of baskets and basket making. I have made several myself at classes and workshops and at a friend of a friends house who has a awesome loft over their garage, it is the ultimate crafting space, and she makes all kinds of things, not just baskets. But a few of us get together occasionally and make a basket or two. It is a blast! So when I saw this paper basket tutorial I was immediately drawn to it. I love and own alot of Longerberger baskets as well, and have been to Dresden, Ohio where they are made and even tried my hand at weaving one there. So I thought I could certainly handle this one. Well let me tell you, the paper ones are a bit harder to work with than the ones made of wood. After I got the first one done I pronounced to my family I am going to post this on my blog with the title CAUTION: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. LOL!!

But after I had a shower and ate a piece of cheesecake I was feeling brave again and so I did make another.

The baskets take a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock, and I have a very limited supply and colors of that size. The hardest part of the baskets, for me anyway, is the bottom part with the very narrow pieces. They don't want to stay where you put them, even with some glue but once you get that part done the rest is very easy peasy!

So what do you think? Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping or in this case Happy weaving!!!

Monday, November 10, 2008

Good Monday morning peeps! I have a couple of sketch cards to show you today!

The first one is one made with
Jen's sketch challenge. I made this with the SU set Give Thanks, retired, that I borrowed from my friend, Lois. I just love this set and wish I had got it before it retired. I really love to watercolor and this set is great for that. I started with a piece of 5 1/4" x 10 1/2" chocolate chip cardstock, folded in half. I used some designer paper from a retired SU pack, I believe it is from last years fall flowers, maybe? I did alot of masking on the image panel and also stamped the sunflower another time on watercolor paper and cut it out and popped it up on dimensional. I used some chocolate chip wide grosgrain for my top layer in the sketch and added a bow. I also added my sentiment, I have a very hard time making a card with out a sentiment on the front, usinf the large and small oval punches.

The next card was made for beate's weekend sketch challenge.. The image is stamped in chocolate chip craft ink and embossed with stardust embossing powder. It really sparkles IRL, but it is hard to get a picture that shows the sparkle. I did the sentiment the same way. The pattered paper is from one of the simply sent card kits.

Well, I did manage to make my very first cheesecake on Sunday. It turned out great, tasted awesome, didn't look so pretty I made a Turtle cheesecake with this recipe:

Turtle Cheesecake
Ingredients:

2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
14 ounces individually wrapped caramels
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 (5-ounce) can evaporated milk
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
2 eggs

Directions:

1. Melt the butter and combine with the vanilla wafer crumbs. Press into the bottom of a 9-inch spring form pan.

2. Place the evaporated milk in a 1-1/2 quart heavy saucepan, and melt the caramels in it over low heat. Heat and stir frequently until smooth. Pour mixture onto crust, and top with pecans.

3. In a large bowl, combine sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla; beat well until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after adding each egg.

4. Melt the chocolate, and combine with the cream cheese mixture. Pour over the Carmel pecan mixture in spring form pan.

5. Bake at 350F for 40 minutes. Loosen cake from the edges of pan, but do not remove rim until cooled. Chill completely.

I just had a little trouble when getting it out of my spring form pan because the Carmel layer stuck to the sides. I didn't get a picture because it didn't make a pretty presentation, but I am going to be trying a Pumpkin one soon and I promise to get a picture of that one.

Well that's all for today, thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

Bag in a Box

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!!! I was up and out early this morning because I had an appointment to get my hair cut and colored before work. It was very chilly and DH got my car started and it was warm and toasty before I left. He is so sweet, definitely a keeper!!

My project to show you today is what is called a Bag in a Box. There is instructions all over the place for these. So I'll just give you the highlights here. I started with a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch piece of card stock and scored it on all four sides at 1 inch. Cut both corners on the score line on two sides and fold into a box and tape together. Next you will need a piece of DS paper cut 5 1/2 x 11 inches. I used red sticky tape to mine together. Put sticky tape on one long side and one short side of the DS paper. Lay the box you made earlier on the long side of the DS paper with the red side of the sticky tape removed and roll the box around the tape, taking care to line up the bottom of the box with the bottom of your DS paper. When you reach the end remove the red side of the sticky tape that is on your short side and stick together to form the bag part of the bag in a box. Next I used the opposite side of my DS paper for the contrast at the bottom. Cut a piece 1 1/2 x 11 inches. I used the SU scallop edge punch on one side and attached this piece in the same way as stated before. Punch two tabs out with the SU tab punch to make the closure. You can punch a hole with a 1/4 inch punch and put your ribbon through or use brad, I used the SU jumbo brads and some riding hood red ribbon. Decorate as you would like and that is it. Easy Peasy! Here is another I started with some fun Basic Gray Paper. Haven't quite finished it yet, but wanted you to see the fun snowman bag.

Last night I was out and about with DD for our regular Friday night outing and found this cute little Holiday stamps at Wal-Mart!

Don't they look fun?

On another note are any of you cheesecake makers? My mission this weekend is to make my very first cheesecake. The guy who does my hair makes the best ones I have ever heard of, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Neapolitan, German Chocolate, and Carrot Cake Cheesecake just to name a few! I have got to try, they all sound so yummy! If you make them let me know and leave me your favorite recipe and any hints you might have. I'll let you know how it goes on Monday, maybe I'll have a picture to share. Stay tuned!!! LOL!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

Make a Wish

TGIF, peeps!!!

My card today is another for the challenges at splitcoast, this one for the limited supply challenge, Fun with shapes. The challenge this week is to create a card using both a rectangle and a circle in your design.

Your card can be in any theme.

Embellishments - Ribbon only!!!

I wanted to use my new SU set Crazy for Cupcakes and was going to use the image with the stacked cupcakes on a stand, but when I water colored it, I made a discovery. I had purchased a brand of watercolor paper that I don't usually use and even tho it was 140lb weight it was much different from the brand I always use. Live and Learn huh? It just couldn't take the water very well, not sure how to explain it, just wasn't right.....so I just went with the single cupcake and used my markers and a blender pen to color the image. I am heading back to Hobby Lobby tonight to get the good stuff!!! I love to watercolor and you really need good paper to start and to achieve good results. Like my next card. It was made with the last bit of my old pack.

What a difference the paper makes huh? I love the look and feel of this card, the BG paper is some I got last year at Hobby Lobby and it is by My Minds Eye. I am hoping they still have some, I'll check when I head over there after work tonight. I like the aged look of it and of course I love anything with polka dots! The brads was a find at Michael's, I grabbed the last two packages and one went in the box I sent to my little acorn. I used riding hood red for the base and it matches the DS paper really well. As does the kraft cardstock. I think the river rock ribbon matches pretty good too, glad to be able to use it again. I find when the new colors come out the old ones just seem to be forgotten as well as the ribbon. I don't know about you but when I design a card it is really trial and error. I don't know the things I want to use and what embellishments I will use until I am putting it all together, however on this one I did know I wanted those leaf brads somewhere. The rest just come together as I went along, even the piercing on the scallop was done after I had put the card all together, I had to peel up the edge and stick my mat under the edge and do the holes and then stick it all down again. Are any of you like that? I always imagine that everyone else's creations come together without the trouble and anguish that I go through. My daughter assures me that it is probably the same for most others.

Well that all I got for you today, thanks so much for stopping by and Happy Stamping!!!

In All Things Give Thanks

Good morning Peeps!! Glad you stopped by today!

I am making a really quick post today to show you the card I made for the Ways to Use it Challenge on splitcoast. I really love playing in the daily challenges there, I don't always get to everyday but I try to do as many as I can. This one was to use corner punches. I'll be back later to give you some more details on the card, I am running late!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

A Merry Christmas Cardinal

Happy Hump Day peeps!!! Hope you are all having a great day so far!

My card today was made with the sketch challenge on splitcoast. I water colored the cardinal from the SU set A Christmas Cardinal with my aquapainter and real red ink, and shaded some with bravo burgundy, this cardinal is really easy to color, I love it!!! We have cardinals at our bird feeder in the back yard all year round and they are especially gorgeous during the winter when it snows, it is amazing to watch them all.

I am not so thrilled with how this card turned out, I think I should have used another shade of green..??!! The cute little snowflakes are buttons, I got at Hobby Lobby, that I cut the shank off the back with my scissors and put on the card with glue dots. I used the cuttlebug and snowflake embossing folder for one layer of my background, the other is some always artichoke DS paper from SU that is retired, it is from the Holiday Harmony DS pack, I believe.

This next card is really a fun and quick card I made last night, I really love this snowman stamp from Penny Black, it is one of my all time favorite snowmen stamps. I used stickles to cover the ground and for the falling snow. I used my tombow gray marker to add just a bit of shade to one side of the snowman and just a little pumpkin pie for his nose. I love all the bling on this card, it just sparkles so much IRL! The snowman and the cuttlebugged BG is on SU shimmer paper, adds a nice glow. Of course I had to add some snowflakes with my new Martha Stewart punch, love that thing!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!!!

Junior Legal Pad Wishlists

Good Tuesday morning peeps. Have you voted yet? I got out at 6:30 this morning and waited in line for about 30 minutes, not bad considering the lines they are showing on the news in some areas!!!

Today's project is one from splitcoast's Holiday Tutorial Blitz. I just love Nancy Riley, Hi Nancy, I don't really know her but she is soooo sweet, she comments on alot of my cards and also here on my blog! She did the tutorial for these Wishlists. I had some Jr. legal pads already that I had cut in half from Office Max. I got them last year when I first saw the wish lists on her blog, and hadn't used them, so last night I dug through my stash and found them. These wishlist are so fun to make! I made 6 last night, two just like Nancy's in the tutorial with the Dashing DS paper from SU, I didn't take a picture of them since you can see her cuties. One of the other two sets I made I used the Frosty Days DS paper and the other I used the Winter and Bright Simply Scrappin' Kit from last year.

These are alot of fun to make and really easy, I am going to make some matching RSVP pens to go with them for some fun little gifts!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!!

Decorative Circle Medallion, A weekend Sketch and a Triangle Santa Box

Good Monday morning peeps!!! Hope you had a great weekend.

Today's cards are made for the technique challenge on splitcoast. This is a really fun and elegant way to showcase your central image on the card. I am sure it would be adorable with a fun little snowman or penguin or the like in the center. This corner punch is the only decorative corner punch I have, and I really need some more to try with this technique.

The technique is so fun and I really love the outcome, and it is not hard at all to achieve. There is a video tutorial for it
here. If you read my blog I referred to this amazing person and her blog a week or two ago. She has such an elegant style and the papers and ribbon she uses are magnificent.

My next card is for Beate's Weekend sketch challenge. I deviated from the sketch slightly to make it fit the images I wanted to use. I hope it still is close enough to qualify.

Of all the cards I did this weekend, this is my favorite, just love all the bling!!!

And lastly a cute little triangle box I mad following this tutorial here. I made my into a Santa, I like it but I am not thrilled with it yet, I need to change it up a bit, but for the first attempt, NOT bad!!!

Imagine a white pom-pom on his hat, I didn't have one yet, but that is what I envisioned there.
