Good Friend

Good Saturday Morning Peeps. Summer has finally come to southwest Missouri! A beautiful warm day on tap here! Hope you are all having a great day where you are.

Today's card is made with the weekend Sketch Challenge, hosted this week by the fabulous Lori Craig!

I did change up the sketch just a bit. My strip across the bottom is behind my image panel instead of in the front. I had wanted to use some kiwi ribbon on this card, but I could not find my spool anywhere. I spent over an hour just hunting for it, I think a cat may have ran off with it and hid it in one of their secret hiding places. The place where al lost objects are hiding....in the land of the lost!

I started the card with a chocolate chip base and followed that with a piece of kiwi kiss card stock and then some of the fun Good Morning Sunshine DS paper. The main image panel consist of pacific blue and whisper white. I used the spiral edge punch on the white. I have to tell you this card was inspired by one in the current cattie, I changed it a bit to fit me and the sketch, but the bird is the same and the spiral punched edge, the rest is all different.

I stamped the big bird from the Good Friend Stamp Set with Kiwi kiss ink onto some scrap card stock, I have found if you lightly, or semi heavily sand the fronts of your large solid stamps with a sanding block, you will get a better more even stamp. I then cut out the bird and set it aside while I stamped the legs onto the white punched piece. I then added the bird onto the white piece with some dimensionals. I then stamped the beak with some pumpkin pie ink onto scrap and cut it out and added with some more tiny bits of pop dots. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to get my sentiment in the corner. I added three silver brads at the side and the bottom piece is made up of strips of kiwi kiss and chocolate chip card stock.

Well, that is it for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Thinking of You in Kraft

TGIF Peeps! This is my last Friday as a employed person. Sad but I am looking forward to some down time before the "job hunt" must begin.

Well, on to today's card. I used the sketch on the
Stamps and Smiles Fresh Batch Blog.. I missed a week or two of their sketches and I am glad to be back with it!

I started my card with a base of chocolate chip, followed by some kraft cardstock, then whisper white and then some Kraft DS paper. I used some of the textured Kraft cardstock from the Taste of Textile Paper Pack. I really love all the paper in that pack, so Yummy!!!

I stamped the tree from the Thoughts and Prayers Stamp set onto the kraft with chocolate chip ink and layered it onto some more chocolate chip. The sentiment is also stamped on the textured kraft with chocolate chip and punched out with the key tag punch. I layered it with chocolate chip as well.

I added some silver brads onto the image panel and then added my photo corner with more silver brads. Tied some chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon around the side and tied a pretty knot. I am really starting to get the hang of those. Thanks to those who helped me out with my bow knots!

The image/sentiment panel is up on dimensionals. I really love this color combo....who wouldn't?

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

2 Maine Blueberry Cards

Good Thursday Morning Peeps! Hope you all are having a good week so far. Yesterday I got some tough news! The store where I work, is closing. Saturday will be my last day of work. I am very worried about finding a new job, I will have to draw unemployment for a while.

Well, on to today's cards. Again I made two for this sketch. I went over to splitcoast to look at the sketch challenge yesterday and got the wrong one.
This one is from last week. But it doesn't matter, it was still one I hadn't done.

For the two cards I made with this sketch, I used different stamp sets, but used the same designer paper, Maine Blueberry. It is now retired and I will be sad when my pack is all gone. Some of my favorite colors are in this paper. Old olive, not quite navy and whisper white is the colors I pulled from the paper for my cards, it also has bashful blue in it but I didn't use it as a cardstock choice this time.

This first one I used the stamp set, Wonderful Favorites. The wonderful friend is stamped with not quite navy ink onto the white and pieced all around the edges. I added some punched stars with brad centers and some old olive grosgrain ribbon for accents.

This next card I started with a whisper white base:

I used the stamp set Pocket Silhouettes for this one. I stamped one of the images three times with bashful blue ink and then stamped another silhouette image with not quite navy ink as well as the sentiment. I layered that with more not quite navy and old olive cardstock. I used my lace edge punch on the side of the olive cardsock. The designer paper layers are all matted with whisper white. I used soem white brads a tied a bow knot with more white ribbon.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

2 Cards 1 Sweet Sketch

Happy Hump Day Peeps! Hope your week is going well.

Today I have two cards to show you, both done with the same Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge On Karen Giron's Blog, The Sweetest Thing.

I love to take a sketch and do it twice with different stamps, papers and accessories. it really shows the versatility of the sketch and shows off our DS paper so well.

First up is actually the second one I made, but my favorite. I used the Trendy Trees Stamp set and some kiwi kiss, riding hood red and basic black and Rockabilly DS paper. I stamped the trees with kiwi and riding hood red ink and used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the trunks. I used the three flower punch for my flowers, punched with riding hood red. I added silver brads to the centers and to the top corners.

The sentiment panel is stamped with chocolate chip ink onto white and layered with kiwi. The ends are made with the curly label punch. The center panel and sentiment are up on dimensionals.

This next one is made with the Cheep Talk Stamp set and I used the Good Morning Sunshine DS paper along with some Pacific Point, whisper white and chocolate chip card stock.

I added some of the fun corduroy brads in summer sun and pacific and some chocolate chip grosgrain.

The branch is stamped with kiwi and chocolate chip ink and the bird is pacific and summer sun. The sentiment is also stamped with pacific ink.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!

SFYTT Thank You

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a good long weekend, and got to have some fun!

Today's card is made with the sketch on Jen del Muro's Blog.

I am not loving this card much, not sure if it is the colors or what. I used some of my new DS paper, To the Nines, the colors are always artichoke, chocolate chip and sage shadow. Just not my cup of tea, they are masculine, I guess.

I used the stamp set Thoughts and Prayers and inked the flower up with artichoke and sage and cut it out with my coluzzle and nesties. The sentiment comes form the set Short and Sweet and is stamped with artichoke and punched out with the large oval punch and layered onto a piece of artichoke cardstock punched with the scallop oval punch.

I added a row of artichoke brads over the chocolate piece on the side and some chocolate grosgrain ribbon on the middle element. The flower piece and sentiment piece are both up on dimensionals.

Well, that is all for today, I will have something brighter for tomorrow, if I find my mojo. Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Just Because

Good Monday Morning Peeps. Hope you all are enjoying this long weekend, well that is here in the U.S.

This card today is one I made a while back and hadn't posted yet. It is made with the Walk in the Park DS paper and the fun Fifth Ave Floral Stamp set. I have seen alot of cards where they used the flowers in this way. I stamped and masked off the adjacent flowers. The sentiment is from the Best Yet stamp set, a retired hostess set.

I found some gray brads in my stash that is perfect match to our Basic gray. I added some baja ribbon and a strip of cameo coral punched with the lace edge punch.

This was another very simple and quick card. Gotta love those!

Well, that is all for today, I am keeping is short and sweet today, so I can get some things done on my day off.

Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Get Well Soon!

Good Saturday Morning Peeps! I actually started this post on Thursday and never finished it. It is now Saturday and I feel some better. It started on Wednesday and was full blown by Thursday and now I think it might be winding down a bit. Nasty COLDS!

This card was not made with any sketch again. I needed a get well card, my brother and sister are both in the hospital, I thought this one would be sorta masculine for my brother.

The card base is Kraft cardstock followed by some whisper white and chocolate chip and then some kraft DS paper. I used the stamp set Thoughts and Prayers and kept it all very clean and simple.

I used some chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon and 4 chocolate chip brads for my accessories.

I have barely used my new scalloped oval punch since getting it but I really do like it!

I am keeping the chit-chat to a minimum today, if you have any questions be sure and shoot me an e-mail anytime!

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

2 Pink Flamingos

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!! The week is half over, and we have a long weekend coming up!

I decide to take a break from sketches for a day or two and make a couple of cards just for the heck of it! I wanted to use some of the new DS paper I just got. This one is from the Pink Flamingo Pack. WOW!! That paper is fun, lots of bright colors!

The first card is made with cameo coral, real red and summer sun. I started with the base in coral and then some real red and followed that with two pieces of the DS paper, one has all the colors from the pack and the piece on the side is just summer sun.

The center elements are made up of one of the flowers from the Fifth Avenue Floral set and the sentiment is from Best Yet. I stamped the flower in versamark onto some scrap red and coral and embossed with white embossing powder and cut out. I added some pop dots to them and attached to the sentiment panel. The side/middle element is real red card stock that I used my EK Success wavy border punch on one side and pierced the other. I added some white ribbon and red brads.

This next card, I just used one of the colors from the DS paper. Tempting Turquoise.

Funny how two cards made from the same DS pack of paper can be soooo different.

My base is whisper white, followed by some tempting turquoise and then the DS paper. I used the set Great Friend for this one.

Very simple and quick card. I have another one I am working on with this DS paper and it looks completely different as well. I will have that one tomorrow if it makes the cut! LOL!

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

God's Beauty

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps! Hope you all are having a great day so far, it is beautiful here in southwest Missouri. No rain in sight and the sun is shinning and temps are warming up!!!

Today's card is made with a fabulous new set that I just received compliments of my awesome friend and SU demo Lois. Be sure and check out her blog if you get a chance!

I loved this set when I saw it in the cattie, it is a level 1 hostess set. I have seen some really nice things made with it. And it sure didn't disappoint when I worked with it!! Really easy to make a GREAT card with! You really NEED this set! I suspect you will be seeing more of it this week!

I used Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch for my layout.

The card base is made with whisper white cardstock and is a 4-1/4 inch square. I then used some of the really nice textured black DS paper from the Rockabilly pack. That paper really does ROCK!!!

The center element is made by stamping first the leaves onto the whisper white piece with some pigment black ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I did the same with the butterfly and the flowers onto some scrap whisper white. I then colored them with my aquapainter and some ink squished into the lids of my ink pads. I used kiwi for the leaves and pacific point and baja breeze fro the flower and butterfly. I cut out the flowers and added them around the leaves by attaching them with a black brad in the middle. The butterfly is up on dimensionals. I pierced around the edge of the center panel before adding the flowers and butterfly. The center element is layered onto basic black cardstock and then more whisper white.

No sentiment on the front of this card, it could be multi occasion card, Thank you, Sympathy, Birthday, get well, thinking of you, best wishes and so on.

The black and white really look elegant and the pop of color in the middle really makes it a stand out!

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Big Birthday Candles

Good Monday morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend. We sure did. Yesterday my niece, she lives with us, graduated from high school. She was so proud and we are all so proud of her. She completed the A+ program and will get two years of college paid for. She wants to be a teacher an I hope she holds tight to that dream! We had a party at a local park after graduation for her, we grilled hot dogs and had potato salad, deviled eggs and baked beans and chips and dips and a big ol' cake I ordered from a local bakery! YUMMY!! We all had a great time!

Well, today's card is made with the Sketch for You to Try on Jen del Muro's Blog.

This was a fun sketch to work with ad I used some of the new DS paper I just got, Stampin' Up's "Sweet Always". Love the colors in that paper.

I used chocolate chip, regal rose and pumpkin pie cardstock along with the DS paper. I stamped the candles from the big birthday candle set onto the DS paper and cut out and popped up with some dimensionals. The flames are stamped onto so saffron cardstock and cut out as well, I added some ruby red ink to the middles with a sponge.

The center circle is cut with my nesties out of regal rose and whisper white. The side circles are punches with my 1-1/4 inch and 1 inch punch with pumpkin pie and regal rose and then I ran the circles through the cuttlebug with my swiss dot folder.

I added some regal rose grosgrain ribbon. I thought after I finished this card that the side circles would have looked better if I had layered them with some white, but it was too late, already glued down!

I didn't add a sentiment to the front of this one, no place where it would really work. I also added a couple of pumpkin pie brads to the top corner and pierced all around the center rectangle.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Weekend Sketch

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made with Beate's weekend sketch challenge this week hosted by Charmine You can see the sketch here.

My card is inspired by this one made by my friend and the uber talented Dawn Easton.

I really loved her card and the colors she used. I used the same colors and DS paper she used. I used the SU set, Upsy Daisy for my focal image. I changed the layout of my card to fit the sketch. The sentiment is from a retired set, Birthday Whimsy.

The colors are rose red and cameo coral and the DS paper is from the Raspberry Tart pack. The ribbon around the panel is from target and the white brads are SU. I changed the layers on on the sentiment and used my new scallop oval punch and the large oval punch and then the word window punch. Love those punches!!

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Great Friend

TGIF Peeps. So glad it is finally here!

Today's card is made with the sketch on the Stamps and Smiles Fresh Batch Blog.

I wasn't feeling to creative when I made this one. I do love to watercolor this rose from the Fifth Avenue Floral set. This one is colored with some Cameo Coral. Makes a really pretty rose.

The rest of the card just never seemed to come together like I wanted. I tried several things with it but wasn't feeling any of it. I was just too distracted with the Grey's Season Finale.

Anyway, I started with a base of basic gray, followed with some cameo coral and then some DS paper from the Walk in the Park pack.

Next some more basic gray and then whisper white and some coral eyelet trim. The sentiment is the one from the Great Friend set, I really love it, as you may have noticed, and is stamped in basic gray ink. First I stamped the frame and then used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up. I pierced all around the edges of the main panel with my piercing tool and mat pack. The Rose is cut out and mounted up on dimensionals as is the entire main panel. I added some basic gray brads and some gray taffeta ribbon.

Well, that is it for today, thanks a bunch for stopping by, remember to tell your friends how much they mean to you and of course, HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Great Friend

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!!! Hope you all are having a good week so far!

Today's card is made with this weeks sketch challenge on Splitcoast.

I decided to dig into some of my retired designer paper for this one. It is just from the last catalog, so still has an in color in it, tangerine tango to be exact.

My card base is tangerine and the DS paper is Haiku and each layer is mounted onto basic black. I used a new stamp set from the current mini, Great Friend. I really like the butterfly in that set, butterflies seem to be one of the hot trends right now, I think anyway.

I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the sentiment and the leaves where I wanted them. The butterfly is stamped in tangerine on whisper white and cut out. I used some mini black brads down the middle and to attach it to the sentiment panel, That butterfly is not going to flutter away!!! LOL! I stamped the leaves with old olive that I had stamped of gently once onto scrap before stamping onto the white panel. I wanted a bit softer look and that worked perfectly.

The main panel is up on dimensionals as is the whole side piece. I used some tangerine ribbon to wrap around and tie a pretty knot and three more mini black brads to complete.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

2 Mojo Sketch Cards!

Happy Hump Day Peeps! I again have two cards made with the same sketch to show you!

These are made with this weeks sketch on The Mojo Monday Blog. This time I used different papers and stamps on each card, two completely different cards but I like them both.

I the first one I used the beautiful Parisian Specialty paper and the butterfly die and then a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. The Parisian paper is so pretty, I don't think you can make a bad card with it. It just dresses up everything. the sentiment is from Trendy Trees and I punched it out with the word window punch. I added a small flower with a chocolate chip brad to the side of the sentiment. Two chocolate brads at the top corners and some silver sticky rhinestones on the butterflies.

This next one is made with the same sketch but I used bashful blue, not quite navy cardstock and some Maine Blueberry DS paper, now retired.

The middle panel is stamped with one of the flowers form Pocket Silhouettes in not quite navy ink. The sentiment is a rub on and I added bashful blue brads to the corners of this one and to the flower centers. I used my EK success wavy border punch and added a bow with some narrow bashful blue grosgrain ribbon.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by, and HAPPY STAMPING!!

2 Cards 1 Sketch

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps! The title of this post could really be 2 cards 1 Sketch 2 Stamp Sets 1 DS paper pack. But that would be a bit silly don't you think? LOL!!

I was greatly inspired on these cards by Debra Currier. Her blog ARTfelt Impressions has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I admire her clean and simple style. It is not an easy look to achieve and really is not my style, I layer way to much and add way to many foo-foos to achieve that style, but I do love it. So I used a few of her cards as my inspiration, just made them mine with a few more "things".

I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch for my layout on both cards.

I used the Walk in the Park DS paper and I pulled from it for my card stock colors, basic gray, baja breeze, kiwi kiss, and whisper white. I used the Stamp sets, Fifth Avenue Floral and Great Friend. I used some gray taffeta ribbon on one and some sticky silver rhinestones on the other.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Hello There 2 Sketches

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend and Mother's Day!
Our area is still in recovery mode from the horrible storm that sweep through here on Friday morning! We got power back on Saturday evening, but there is still so many that haven't got it yet. Alot of destruction, trees down, onto homes and vehicles, thankfully I haven't heard of any deaths related to this storm.

Today's card is made for Jen's Sketch for You to Try. She always post a new sketch on Saturday, you should check it out and play along if you can. I really like her sketches.

I was inspired to do this one from one we did at SAS on Saturday. I just love the Good Morning Sunshine DS paper and the Cheep Talk stamp set, I had never inked up this cute little sunflower tho. I inked it up with some summer sun ink and used my chocolate chip marker to color in the center. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the stem and petals stamp and the sentiment.

I cut the circle and the scallop circle with my nesties and cuttlebug. I pierced around the yellow layer and divided the top layer into three panels for some added interest. I added some chocolate chip brads to the top two corners and tied a ribbon around with some chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon. I have been working on making my knots look nicer, what do you think? The main image/sentiment panel is up on dimensionals.

This next card is made with theWeekend Sketch Challenge on Cambria's Blog.

I used the same DS paper and the same image/sentiment panel. I used one of the cool silver grommets and some large silver brads for accents.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Thanks so much

Good Saturday Morning Peeps! I didn't get to stamp yesterday or this morning due to NO POWER still at my house. We have it here at work tho, so I am here.

I am posting a card I made earlier in the week today. It is made for the
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge on Karen Giron's blog.

I thought the sketch was really cute this week, I like the frame around the image panel. I made mine the hard way, cut a square and then cut the center out with my paper cutter, I really need to get some of the square nesties, they are on my wish list, but that list is soooooo long, who knows when, or if it will ever get filled! LOL!

I used a favorite set from SU the "Trendy Trees" a cute little one but very versatile, I think. The DS paper is the Rockabilly Textured, LOVE IT! I used some PTI card stock for the base and the frame and to stamp the tree onto.

The card is a 4-1/4 inch square. I added just a little pop of red with some riding hood red cardstock behind the tree panel. I pierced all around the frame and it is up on dimensionals as is the tree panel. I added a white brad to each corner and this little "Thank You" is complete!

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Thank You for your Friendship

OMG Peeps!!! A terrible, horrible, destructive, scary storm blew through here this morning! Trees uprooted, windows blown out, hail rain, hard straight line winds!!! A branch fell on my Jeep and broke the windshield.

I am posting my card late today but it was made for the final sketch on the Stamps and Smiles Blog

My card base is baja and I used some retired DS paper, Urban Garden. I love the colors in that paper and will be sad when it is all gone! I also used PTI white and night of navy. The stamp set is Upsy Daisy and the sentiment is from that same set. I used my handy dandy stamp-a-ma-jig t line up my sentiment.

I added some brads and tied a pretty little bow. This card is not a favorite of mine, but will do.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!

LUCKY

Happy Thursday Peeps. Let me start off by apologizing for my picture quality. I am using my daughters camera, because mine has died and I am not very familiar with hers.

My card today is made for the sketch, day three, on The Stamps and Smiles Blog..

The Ducky stamp is from the new set in the current mini, Wagon full of Fun and it is the whole reason I purchased that set. That ducky is just adorable!!!

I stamped him on watercolor paper with black stazon. Colored him in with my aqua painter and some baja, pumpkin pie and so saffron ink. I added some ground with some lite gray ink. I matted with basic black and baja. I layered his wing on a pop dot to add some dimension. I cut the baja scallop rectangle with my nesties and cuttlebug. I added a corduroy baja button that I tied some string through in one corner and the sentiment with oval punches in the opposite corner.

The DS paper is from the Sweet Slumber pack. The base of the card is baja as well. I pierced around the ducky image and put a light wash of baja ink over the sentiment.

The corner elements under the duck was made with the scallop square punch and the 1-1/4 inch punch. The entire center element is up on dimensionals.

I feel so luck to have started this blog and made so many great cyber friends from it! I am lucky to have a great group of stamping friends who took me into their group with open arms and treat me like family, even better! I am lucky to have a super husband who supports me and loves me no matter what, I am so blessed and lucky to have a great daughter and niece who make me feel special every day!

What makes you feel lucky?

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

Make A Wish

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!! Hope your week has been good so far.

Today's card is for the sketch on the Stamp and Smiles Blog, day 2.

I sure had a hard card making session with this one, I couldn't come up with anything I was happy with. I couldn't decide between a 5 inch square or a 4-1/4 inch square, I tried trendy trees, nope, tried thoughts and prayers, nope.....then I finally settled on Big Birthday Candle. I like the final result but it took awhile to get there.

All I knew when I sit down to start this card was the DS paper I wanted to use, Sweet Slumber. I chose my card stock colors from there, Sahara sand, so saffron and baja blue.

I really like this set, altho I seldom use it. It is a fun set, could use for young or old alike. I stamped the candle onto my DS paper and cut them out, I did the same with the flame, onto so saffron cardstock and cut out. I sponged some ruby red into the center of the flame with a Q-tip. I cut the oval scallop with my nesties and cuttlebug and pierced the scallops. The center oval and the sentiment is on shimmer white cardstock. I punched the ends of my sentiment panels with the curly label punch. The sentiment, the candles and the oval are all mounted to the card with dimensionals. I added some so saffron brads to the corners and sticky rhinestones for the side element, to meet the sketch.

I decorated the inside too. Here is a picture :

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING

Live, Laugh, Love

Happy Cinco de Mayo Peeps!!!

Today's card is made for the sketch on the Stamps and Smiles Blog. They are having a week log celebration leading up to the release of five new sets. Each day Monday through Friday a new sketch is posted and if you play along you are entered in a chance to win one of the new sets. I will trying to play along each day.

My card is started with some PTI white cardstock for the base. I used The Rockabilly DS pack and each layer is matted with the white. Last Saturday I borrowed this Birthday set, On Your Birthday, from my friend Lois, so I needed to make the most of it. I really like the Live, Laugh Love sentiment and so I used it for my focal point. The balloon is from the Crazy for Cupcakes Set. I stamped the "string" that is tied onto the balloon to come across the sentiment. The balloon itself is stamped onto some of the DS paper and cut out and mounted with a dimensional.

The rest of the card is pretty self explanatory, I accented with some riding hood red ribbon and black brads. I love brads, and use them tooooo much! How about you? What is your favorite embellishment? I would be hard pressed to choose just one, I love ribbon and brads both.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SFYTT Wonderful You

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope you all had a great weekend!

I just can't stop using this rose from the Fifth Avenue Floral Set. I love it, it looks great in almost every color I have tried!

Today I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try for my card layout. This one was a bit hard for me, but hey, that is why it's called a challenge huh?

I started out picking my Designer Paper, it is the now retired, Maine Blueberry, which contains some of my favorite colors, old olive, not quite navy, and bashful blue. The card base is old olive followed by bashful blue and then not quite navy and finally the DS paper. I used both sides of the same sheet for the two layers.

I then colored my rose, which was stamped with black stazon onto 140 lb. weight watercolor paper, with the bashful blue, not quite navy and old olive ink. I just squished my ink pads a bit to get some ink onto the lid of the pad and used my aqua painter. I have always water colored this way but recently, I used some re-inkers at a friends house and I love water coloring that way, the color is much more intense and takes alot less to achieve a rich color. Some reinkers will be on my next order, a few at a time til I get them all!

I cut the rectangle out with my nesties to mount the rose onto with some dimensionals. I added some old olive ribbon, sorry about the raggedy ends on my ribbon, I need some good ribbon cutting scissors, and some pearl sticky rhinestones to the corners.

The sentiment is from a Hostess set, Wonderful Words, I think, not sure of that one.

Well, that is all for today, well except for one thing, I am still waiting for my sticky rolls Lois!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!

WSC Friend Tag

Good Saturday Morning Peeps! It is still raining here today, and more called for tomorrow and according to the 7 day outlook on the weather channel, a little more next week! What can you do? It is out of our control.

My card today is bright even if it isn't here! I really do love these colors together. The DS paper is Washington Apple, that pack is almost gone, I have used it alot.

I used Beate"s weekend sketch challenge, hosted this week by Jen Balcer.

I started with a base of riding hood red. The card is a large one, 5 /14 inch square. I followed with some pumpkin pie cardstock and then the DS paper. When I saw the sketch, I thought of making a removable tag for the center element, maybe like a small bookmark, having it just tuck inside that bottom stip. So I set out to make one. I used my favorite stamp from the All Holiday set, I just love that sentiment. I used a jumbo brad and some riding hood red ribbon, then I promptly glue it down onto my card, so much for removeable!!!!!!!!!

I added some stars and pumpkin corduroy brads and finally some pumpkin flower brads. If only I hadn't glued down my tag!!!

Well, that is all for today, hope you all have a great weekend, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

So Glad

TGIF Peeps! It is the first day of May, the months are zipping by quickly, funny how it seems that way as we get older!

Today's card is my submission for this weeks sketch challenge on the Stamps and Smiles Blog.

I started with a base of tangerine tango, trying to make the most of my in colors paper and DS paper, they will be retiring in just two short months.

I followed up with a layer of so saffron and then some tangerine DS paper from the now retired Haiku pack. The middle piece is also from that same pack.

The main panel is the grass from the Inspired by Nature set stamped with old olive onto whisper white cardstock. I pierced all around the edges of this piece with my piercing tool and mat pack. I added some so saffron ribbon and then attached my center piece with some pop dots. The sentiment is from the hostess set, retired, Best Yet.

I finished it off with a tangerine butterfly punched with my Martha Stewart butterfly punch with some sticky pearls in the center and three so saffron brads in the top corner.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
