Punchy Cardinal

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card a I made for 2 challenges. I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try and I combined it with the challenge on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog.

The Crazy 4 Challenge is "Punch Happy", drag out the punches, use at least one. My cardinal is made with punches, I used my 1-3/4 inch circle punch and my 1 inch circle, for the body and wing. I used the boho blossom punch for the tail feathers and for the black part on the face. I used the photo corner punch for the beak.

I used the sizzlits little leaves die with some wild wasabi textured card stock for the leaves the cardinal is sitting on. the cardinal is mounted to the front of the card with a pop dot.

I strayed just a bit from the sketch, I think I missed a layer. The base of the card is real red and that is followed with some whisper white and then the chocolate chip DS paper is from the Merry Moments pack the layer across the top is made up of real red card stock and the DS paper on that is from the Christmas Cocoa Speciality Paper. I then used a snowflake embossing folder for the two squares.

The sentiment comes from the "Christmas Greeting" stamp set and is stamped in real red onto white and then matted with real red card stock. I used the curly label punch on the ends of both pieces. I added three buttons, one to the sentiment and two in the bottom corner. I used some white floss in the centers of the buttons. The buttons are some I had in my button tin, a huge round container of buttons I have had forever.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC46 Starry Snowman

Good Sunday Morning Peeps!!!

It is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!!! Here is the sketch we are using this week:

Loved this sketch and you know I lovin' this super fun "Snow Buddies" stamp set from SU. It is a level 2 hostess set and I am thrilled I was able to get it. I love snowmen and find them all adorable and this one is no exception.

I started my card off by choosing my DS paper, which comes from the Holiday Lounge DS pack. The card stock I used is Taken with Teal, Shara Sand and of course whisper white.

I stamped the snowman with black staZon onto whisper white and then stamped it again onto some taken with teal scrap, so I could cut out his scarf. I used my white gel pen to color in his dots on the scarf. I stamped the hat separate and col red it in with black and teal markers. I then cut it out and glued it on his head, just slightly askew. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to add his arms and the string and the star he is holding. The other 2 stars where stamped onto scrap white and colored with my summer sun marker and cut out and mounted to the main image panel with a bit of a dimensional. I used my circle and inverted scallop circle nesties to cut the snowman image and mat.

I added a bit of stardust stickles to the stars and the ground under the snowman. I pierced around the edge of the teal DS paper layer and added 3 silver brads and the sentiment comes from the "Christmas Greetings" stamp set and was stamped with taken with teal, I should have used black.

I hope you have some time to play along with us this week. Come join in on the fun and create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen's blog and link your card using Mr. Linky so all of us can see your creation!

WSC & PPA Season Greetings

TGIF Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made with Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge and Pals Paper Arts KISS Challenge.

The Kiss challenge stands for Keep it Simple, Sweetie. My card is super simple, it has no stamping, and you know what, that is NOT simple for me, I feel like I cheated with this one.....LOL!!!!

I dug out and old Simply Scrapping kit I have, Winter Bright. The base of the card is made with some wild wasabi textured card stock from the kit, I followed that with some real red card stock and all of the DS paper is from the scraping kit.

I made my circle element from the kit and it is made up of a pretty in pink circle sticker, I used my embossing buddy on the back of the sticker to make it not sticky. I added another pretty in pink "joy" sticker to the bottom one with a dimensional. I then added a so saffron star, also from the kit, to the pink circle. I then mounted it to the base of the card with another dimensional.

I thought the striped side of my card looked a bit bare so I used another sticker on dimensional as well to the bottom corner.

Well, that is it for today, my plain and simple, Weekend sketch, KISS card!!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

MTSC Holly Jolly

Good Wednesday Morning Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge.

The stamp set I used is "Holiday Lineup". This lineup of elves are just toooo funny. They look so frazzled but happy, like many of us ot this time of the year! LOL!!!

The base of the card is garden green, followed by real red and the DS paper is from the Merry Moments DS pack.

I stamped the elves onto watercolor paper with black stazon. I colored them in with my aqaupainter and garden geen, real red, blush blossom, old olive and chocolate chip ink. The sentiment comes from the "Christmas Punch" set, a level 2 hostess set. I matted it with garden green and a real red snowflake. I added some real red ribbon and mounted the main image with some dimensionals.

Well, that is all for today, I have alot of baking to get done today, an apple pie, a pumpkin roll and maybe a pecan pie.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

WSC Happy Birthday

Good Monday Morning Peeps! Hope your weekend went well.

Today I am sharing a card I made with Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge.

I decided to use some of my favorite DS paper, Maine Blueberry, so sad that it is retired.

The base of the card is a 5 by 10 inch piece of not quite navy card stock folded in half. I also used old olive and whisper white card stock. The stamp set I used is "Happy Everything". I made my flower from a punched old olive circle scallop. I cut into the center at each scallop and curled them a bit with the end of my piercing tool. I added a 3/4 inch circle of not quite navy and a silver designer brad from the silver hodgepodge set.

I added some old olive ribbon and silver brads to the corners for the accessories.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SSSC45 Make a Wish

Good Sunday Morning Peeps!

It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. This is such a cool sketch, I loved making this card, I didn't stress over it very much either, like I generally do!!! LOL!

Here is the sketch:

I wanted to make a birthday card for my niece's birthday, which is Monday. I used the set "On a Pedestal", the designer series paper is "Th roughly Modern" and I used Shara sand, soft suede and taken with teal card stock.

I borrowed the great MS daisy edge punch and the flower nestie from a friend. I used some soft suede ribbon and a rose red button and some twine for accents. The sentiment comes from the "A Little Birthday Cheer" stamp set.

I sure hope you can find some time during this busy week to play along with us.
Come join in on the fun and create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen's blog and link your card there, so all of us can see your creation!

PPA17 Penguin Love

TGIF Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made with the sketch challenge on the Pals Paper Arts Blog.

I just love the little penguin in the "Cold & Cuddly" Stamp set from the holiday mini. When I saw the sketch I knew immediately that I wanted to use that little penguin in my squares. I stamped him four times onto whisper white card stock. I used black stazon ink and wiped off the ink from the heart and beak with a Q-tip and then used my real red and more mustard marker to color them in. I then used my real red and garden green markers directly on the hat stamp alternating the stripes.

The penguin are punched out with my 1-1/4 inch square punch and they are matted with the square scallop punch and real red card stock.

The base of the card is real red followed by garden green and whisper white. The Ds paper is from the Merry Moments DS pack. The sentiment comes from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set, I stamped it with real red onto whisper white card stock. I used the word window punch and mounted it directly to the base card. I used some red ribbon and red sparkly rhinestones on the penguins hats.

Now what penguin lover wouldn't love to receive this in their mail box at Christmas, I know right where this one is heading!!!!

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SC255 Christmas tag

Good Thursday Morning Peeps! I hope you all are having a great week so far.

Today I am sharing a card I made with the sketch challenge this week on splitcoast.

I am still struggling a bit with my creativity. I had the basic design of this card done fairly fast, I knew the idea I wanted to create, but actually getting it to look the way I imagined was a bit harder. I started with my DS paper, this fabulous paper is from the "Holiday Lounge" pack. I chose my colors from there, Shara sand and Ruby red.

The main image tag is what I had a problem with, I trashed two other tags before finally settling with this one. I like this one and glad I keep pushing through til I got it the way I wanted.

I did stray just a bit from the sketch, I tilted the min image panel just a bit, where as the sketch had it straight. The "ornaments" on the tag are from the "Delightful Decorations" set and are stamped in ruby red ink and I used my ornament punch to punch them out and they are mounted to the tag with some diemsionals. The sentiment comes from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.

I used the tag corner punch and layered up, ruby red, Shara sand and then whisper white card stock. I did stamp the ornaments directly onto the white, and then added my punched ones over them, to create the "out of the box" look. Before added the top ornaments I used some score tape to put down my loop "hangers" for the ornaments.

I layered up two circles for the top and added some white grosgrain ribbon and a BIG ol' brad, don't you love those big brads? The ornaments are decorated with some sticky pearls and I added three more to the side.

Well, that is all for today, thanks s much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

MTSC Merry Christmas

Hello Peeps!

I am posting very late today. I have worked for ever on this card. Well not just this one but this sketch.

I am using Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. I was having such a hard time creating today, I needed to just step away and I probably should have, I wasted so much paper today!!!! YIKES!!

Finally in the end, I think this one is ok, not LOVE it, but like it.

My base is real red and measures 6-1/2 by 3-1/4. I used some soft suede and the DS paper is from the Christmas Cocoa Speciality pack. The main image is from the hostess set "Holiday Best". The swirls are from the sizzix "Scribbles Swirls" I added a few sticky pearls and a ribbon with a white button.

Well,l that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

SSSC44 Thankful

Good Sunday morning Peeps. It is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!!

Here is the sketch we are using this week:

I have to tell you that I was pretty thrown by this sketch when I first saw it. I thought about it awhile and one day at while I was grocery shopping it just hit me, I could make those little circles pumpkins. After that it all just fell into place.

I used some of the Autumn Meadows DS paper. This paper is wonderful, I love the rustic, aged feel of it. The sentiment comes from the "Grateful Greetings" set and of course those paper pieced pumpkins are from my favorite "Autumn Harvest" set. The base of the card is made with chocolate chip and then I followed that with some taken with teal and then the DS paper. I used my circle and scallop nesties to make the large BG scallop circle, with really rust cardstock and more of the DS paper. The sentiment is stamped onto very vanilla with chocolate chip ink. I matted that with more chocolate chip cardstock and added three antique copper brads.

I tucked a bit of striped chocolate chip ribbon behind the sentiment panel.

WSC Make Merry

Good Saturday Morning peeps!

Today I am sharing a card made with Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I hope you can see the sketch peeking out. I am using a favorite set of the moment, "Snow Buddies" which is a level 2 hostess set from the holiday mini. This is such a fun set, you need to get it!!!

I started the card with a base of garden green, a color that I almost never use, and then followed that with some whisper white. The DS paper is from the Merry Moments designer pack.

I stamped the snowmen onto some scrap whisper white and colored them with my markers. I cute them out and used some dimensionals to mount them to the card. I hand cut the rolling snow hills and glued them down. The sentiment comes from the "Berry Christmas" set and is stamped with garden green ink onto white and I used the word window punch and modern label punch. The snow flakes are punched with a MS punch and added to the base with some dimensionals too. I added some bling to the BG snowflakes and the front punched ones too. I used some white embroidery floss at the end of sentiment.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

PPA16 Snowflake Set

Good Thursday Morning Peeps! Hope your week is going well.

Today I am sharing a set of cards I created for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge: Christmas Cheer. The challenge is to create and Holiday themed item or project.

I chose to make a fun and super easy set of cards. I made two of each color, rich razzleberry, night of navy and always artichoke. There is really very little stamping on these. I used the sentiment from the little "Christmas Greeting" Set. I did use my stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up.

I used the petal a plenty embossing folder and the large snowflake punch. That is it, very quick to pull this set together. I spent more time on deciding the layout and colors than actually making the cards! Seriously fast and fun! I did add a sticky rhinestone to the center of the snowflakes for a bit of sparkle.

I think I will try to make a matching box for these to give to a friend.

Well, that is all for today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

HAPPY HUMP DAY PEEPS!

Today I am sharing a card I made with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. I love Mercy's Sketches!!!

Edited to Add: I don't EVER CASE a person without giving them proper credit, however it has been brought to my attention that my card today is almost identical to this hot chocolate holder from Ilina Crouse. I don't remember seeing hers, but it looks so similar to what I have made I must have. Please head over to her blog and check out her fabulous creations.

I started the card with a base of bashful blue and followed that with some whisper white and then real red that I embossed with my cuttlebug and embossing folder. The center element is made up of whisper white and bashful blue. I used a snow flake stamp from the "Serene Snowflake" set and stamped with white craft and then embossed with white embossing powder.

The penguin, ice, sign and sentiment are all from the "Cold & Cuddly" Set. I stamped them onto whisper white and cut out. I used some ribbon from the ribbon originals across the bottom and added the sentiment over the ribbon.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

C4C10 A Cardinal Easel

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!

Today's card is made for the challenge on the Crazy for Challenges Blog. This week's challenge is to make an easel card. I had never made this kind of card, but they have a couple of links to some really great tutorials.

I used some retired papers on this, Riding Hood Red cardstock and the DS paper is a scrap I had left from the Bella pack. The stamp set is "A Cardinal Christmas". I love this set and I love to watercolor the cardinal! I stamped the cardinal onto some watercolor paper with timber brown stazon and colored it in with my aqua painter and inks. I used real red, riding hood red, more mustard, and old olive. I used some crystal effects on the berries and the eye of the cardinal. I then used my white gel pen to add some highlights. I used my chocolate chip marker to define the limbs. I then very carefully cut the cardinal out using my paper snips and then my craft knife.

I cut put another piece of watercolor paper with my labels three nesties and also in riding hood red. I left the nestie on the watercolor paper and sponged some bashful blue onto the paper. I then mounted the cardinal to the nesties with a few dimensionals. I used the large snowflake punch and a flower filigree with a red crystal brad in the middle.

Well, that is all for today, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

SSSC43 Snow Buddies!

Good Sunday Morning peeps! It is my favorite time of the week, time for another
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!

If you follow my blog at all you have seen me use this set a time or two or three this week! I love the set! This was actually the first card I made with it last week, but I couldn't, of course, show it to you til now!

My card uses taken with teal and whisper white cardstock and the DS paper is from the Holiday Lounge pack. The stamp set is "Snow Buddies" and is a level 2 Hostess set in the Holiday Mini.

Here is the sketch we are using this week:

I used the top note die in whisper white and taken with teal for my front panel. I embossed the snowflakes onto the BG with white embossing powder. I cut out the snow drifts and the snow buddies and mounted them over the BG. The hats and scarfs are paper pieced and colored with markers. I used my white gel pen to add some dots to the scarf and for the pom-pom on the hat. I added some white satin ribbon and three white mini brads. No sentiment on this one.

So what do you say want to play along with us? Come join in on the fun and create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen's blog and link your card so all of us can see your creation!

WSC Merry & Bright

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made with Beate's weekend Sketch Challenge.

I am soooo loving this snowman set, it is "Snow Buddies" and it is a level 2 hostess set from the holiday mini. I stamped the snowman onto some whisper white cardstock with black stazon.I colored in his nose and scarf with markers and stamped his hat onto some Holiday Lounge DS paper and cut it out. I colored in parts of his hat with the SU basic black marker. I cut out the snowman with my circle nesties and the black scallop is also a nestie. I then glued on his hat, it sticks out of the top of the circle just a bit.

The base of the card is Shara sand and then basic black and the DS paper is from the Holiday Lounge pack. The sentiment in the lower corner is a single stamp called "Merriment" and is stamped directly onto the designer paper with black stazon.
I added a black mini brad to the corners and mounted the snowman to the base with a few dimensionals. I added a little stardust stickles to the snowman and to the ground below the snowman.

Isn't he cute, like I said before I love this set! Be sure to come back tomorrow to see the fun little card I made with this same set for my Sweet Sunday Sketch card.

Thanks so much for coming by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

PPA15 Blessings

TGIF Peeps!!! Hope you all had a great week and are looking forward to an even better weekend!

My card today is made for the color challenge on Pals Paper Arts. Love these colors together.

This card is a CASE of this fabulous CAS (clean and simple) card. I really am a big fan of clean and simple and Deb is a master at it, all her cards are fabulous. I have a hard time with it, I can't seem to stop adding layers and embellishments when I am making a card.

Anyway, I changed up the card a bit from the original, I added an extra layer under the main panel, no surprise there huh? I used a different sentiment and changed the colors to work with the challenge, basic gray, taken with teal and ruby red.

The sentiment comes from the "Grateful Greetings" Set and the leaves are from the "Autumn Splendor" set. I stamped the sentiment with basic gray ink and the leaves are in taken with teal and ruby red ink. I cut them out and added a basic gray corduroy button and then added them to the main panel with few dimensionals. The two stripes of card stock across the card are ruby red and taken with teal. The base of the card is basic gray. I then added three antique brads.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much fr stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

MTSC Happy Holidays

Happy Hump Day Peeps!

Today's card is made with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. I have to say I took a few liberties with the sketch, hope you don't mind Mercy. {wink} I used a circle instead of an oval, I will be getting the oval nesties this week, and then I flipped the sketch, putting my image on the opposite side. I hope it still qualifies for the sketch!!!

For this card I used the fun hostess set "Snow Buddies" a level 2 from the mini. I am so loving this set, I have another card to show you with this set later in the week!!!

My card is a 5 inch square. I used regal rose, real red and whisper white cardstock. The DS paper and the sentiment, which is a sticker, is from an old retired Simply Scrapping kit, Winter Bright.

I stamped the snowman onto whisper white and then used my circle nestie to cut it out. I left the nestie in place and then sponged some bashful blue ink around the snow "girl"! I colored in her scarf and hat with my regal rose marker. I added some star dust stickles to the side of her and used my white gel pen to add some snowflakes and dots to the hat. I used a bit of liquid applique for the top of the hat. I mounted the image to the base with some dimensionals. I added some regal rose ribbon and some white brads.

Well, that is all for today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SSSC42 Thankful Thoughts

It is Sunday Peeps, which means it is time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch.

The card that I have for today using the SSSC#42 was created using the stamp sets Autumn Harvest and the sentiment is from the new set Grateful Greetings.

Here is the sketch we are using this week:

My card base is taken with teal and the DS paper comes from the Autumn Meadows pack. I also used some whisper white and chocolate chip cardstock. I paper pieced the pumpkin with ore of the DS paper from that same pack. The pumpkin and the sentiment panel are both mounted using dimensionals. I added some piercing and finally some wide chocolate chip striped grosgrain ribbon.

I was really having fun with this sketch and so I made another card with it and then couldn't decide which I liked best to use for today's sketch, so how about both:

This one uses the A Cardinal Christmas Set. The base and DS paper is old olive, I used real red and whisper white cardstock too. I added some white satin ribbon and some dazzling diamonds to the berries, very pretty IRL.

So why not join in on the fun and create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then link your card over at Karen's blog for all of us to see.
