PPA53.....Baby Congratulations

Good Saturday Morning Peeps! Are you staying cool where you are at? It is like a miserable sauna here, sooooo HOT and HUMID!!!

Today I have a fun little card I made using thePals Paper Arts Challenge. This week the challenge is a Monochromatic Color Challenge using purple, any shades of purple!

I used the new in color Concord Crush and the retired Pale Plum, this is one color I will miss alot, I stocked up on it tho so I have a good stash. I used the new single stamp called "Baby Steps", I think it is soooo cute!! I love those little elephants. I used last weeks sketch from Taylored Expressions for my layout on this card. I am too late to link up over there but I still like this sketch alot.

The base of the card is concord crush and then I followed that with whisper white and then more concord crush that was embossed with my Swiss Dot EF. I stamped the elephants with concord crush ink onto whisper white twice. I cut out the ears and added them over the the stamped image with some dimensionals. The hearts are punched with pale plum and the Heart to Heart punch and added with dimesionals too. The "baby" is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes and is stamped with Concord Crush ink onto the heart. I added some silver cording and silver pearls.

Well, that is all from me, Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Vicki

SFYTT.....Thanks a gazillion

TGIF Peeps!!! Hope you are staying cool wherever you are, it is sooo miserably HOT here!!! I am longing for fall and cooler temps!

Today's card is one made over the weekend, it uses Jen's Sketch for you to Try. This one a fun sketch, altho I did struggle a bit with it.

My card uses the fun new daffodil delight and the Every Moment stamp set. the base of the card is chocolate chip and is a 5 inch square. I scored the daffodil piece with my score board and the flowers are stamped with black stazon and water colored. I used some MS pearl brads and chocolate chip satin ribbon. The center DS paper is in two pieces altho it is hidden by the main image panel, the DS paper is from a retired pack, Bella Rose, I think.

I used small squares attached at angle to frame the flowers and added another slightly smaller oval behind to hold it all together. The sentiment comes from the retired Really Retro stamp set and is stamped with black stazon onto watercolor paper and matted with some chocolate chip I attached the small little flag to the bow with some twine and secured it to the front with a bit of a dimensional.

Well, that is all from me, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

MTSC84......Thank You

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!!

Today's card share is made with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge.

I am soooo loving these cute little "Greeting Card Kids" stamp set. I mean, How cute are they?

I stamped the cute little heart girl onto watercolor paper with black stazon, I colored her dress with the new Marina Mist. I used pretty in pink, daffodil delight and blush blossom. I used pretty in pink whisper white and marina mist card stock for the layers. I used the Swiss dot folder on the first layer and on the second layer of pink I scored the BG with my scor pal and added small pearls at each intersection of the lines. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny wishes stamp set and is stamped with black stazon onto the whisper white piece. I rounded the edges on the sentiment panel with my corner rounder punch.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Curtain Call.....Take Note

Happy Tuesday Peeps! Hope your week is going well so far!

Today I am sharing a fun little project I made using a pattern I found here. I used Stacey's Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 40 for the colors for my notebook. In the tutorial for this, she called it a gift card wallet, I changed mine up a bit to use one of the jr legal notepads I had cut in half last week. The colors this week for the challenge are basic black, kiwi kiss, real red, tempting turquoise and whisper white. I used some retired DS Speciality paper, from the Rockabilly pack. I really like how this turned out. The base of the note pad holder is basic black and then on the front I used some kiwi kiss card stock and then the front and back of one of the DS papers in the pack. I used the stamp set, "Tart & Tangy" also I used the top note die and the Naturally Serif sizzlit strip die for my "Take Note" letters. There is turquoise on the front, I added a strip between the two DS papers, but in the photo the ribbon is covering most of it. There is also a bit showing around the stamped cherries.

Now the real fun is the inside:

For the left side of the cover, I used some tempting turquoise card stock and some kiwi kiss dotted DS paper. I covered the top of the half notepad with a bit more of the DS paper and then used score tape to attach it to the inside. I added the stamped cherries on the first few pages of the notepad.

The right side is made with the Scallop Envelope Die. I cut three, one in real red, another in kiwi kiss and another with tempting turquoise. I added some DS paper to the envelopes and a jumbo white brad to each. These envelopes can be used for any number of things, candy, gift cards, coupons, stamps...etc. I think for the next one I will add a pen/pencil holder in the middle.

I used some real red grosgrain ribbon wrapped around to tie a half bow for the closure.

Well, that is it from me today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

FTL100......With Sympathy

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!

Today's card share is made with the Fall to Layout #100 on the Clean & Simple blog. I just loved this sketch! I will be using it again.

You know I am loving this new set "Every Moment", I love both of the stamps in the set. Yesterday I used the flower, and also used it on another card you will see tomorrow, so I used the beautiful stamp with the bird sitting in the cattails. I don't know birds, so I am not sure what kind of bird this is, or what color it should be, I am sure it will be alot of different colors as I use it more. I stamped the image onto watercolor paper with black stazon. I colored with Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight and Bashful Blue with my aqua painter. I stamped the image again and colored the tops of the cattails, cut them out and popped them up. The sentiment I used is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set. I stamped with black stazon onto wild wasabi card stock. I used my word window punch to punch it out and attached it to the edge of the watercolor piece, cutting off the end.

I used a MS punch along the bottom of the main panel and pierced across the top. I added some wild wasabi ribbon. I mounted the main image to a piece of wild wasabi and the base of the card is Early Espresso.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SSSC79.....Get well Wishes

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING PEEPS!!! It's my favorite time of the week, time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Sample

Here is the fabulous sketch Karen has for us this week:

I am in love with this new set, "Every Moments" love to watercolor nd this set is perfect for that. I used riding hood red for the flower, it looks alot lighter than the actual card stock color tho, I was planning on using that color on my card elswhere, but it just didn't work out. I used some gingham paper, retired from Sweet Slumber pack, in sahara sand and basic black. The sentiment comes from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" stamp set. I added basic black satin ribbon and some pretty black pearls.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

OK, let's see what the rest of the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team has in store for us this week:

Curtain Cal....Thanks for making me smile

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!

Today's card share is made with the colors from Stacey's Stamping Stage: Curtain Call Color Challenge {Act 39}. The colors this week are Crumb Cake (aka Kraft), Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery and Whisper White.

I have to say I really had a time with these colors and this card, I am still not so sure about it, but decided to go ahead with it. I pushed through and finished it. The base of the card is white and I followed that with a certainly celery piece of DS paper from the now retied Cottage Wall paper pack. I used the daisy die to make my flowers, I cut them in half and stacked them up. I added a crumb cake center to both. the stems and leaf are wild wasabi. I mounted my flower onto a piece of crumb cake . The bottom piece is certainly celery and the top of that piece I used the scallop edge punch on. The sentiment comes from the Small Sayings stamp set and is stamped iwth black stazon. I added some wild wasabi ribbon, silver pearls and piercing to finish it off.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Owl Notepad and Clips

Happy Thursday Peeps! I am having so much fun with my new OWL Punch, you have to get this fellow!! He is adorable and the punch does all the work you just have to glue!!!

I made a little note pad following the tutorial on Nancy Riley's blog. Super easy! I used the Greenhouse Gala DS paper and some chocolate chip and baja breeze card stock. The hearts are pear pizzazz card stock. The sentiment on the note pad is from the Apple Blossom level 2 stamp set. I stamped with black stazon onto baja card stock and used my word window punch to cut it out. The owl is matted with card stock punched with the scallop circle punch, the 1-1/2 inch punc and 1-3/8 inch punch. I pierced all around the scallop circle with my piercing tool and mat pack. I added a baja button to the divider strip.

Next are 2 cute matching owls mounted onto some jumbo paper clips.

Forgot to say I used some 8mm wiggly eyes on all the owls, aren't they cute?

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

MTSC83......Greeting Card Kid

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!!

Today I have another Halloween project, well a card anyway! This is one of the first sets I knew I would order when seeing the new catalog. This cute litte set of kids kinda remind me of the Campbell Soup Kids, remember them?

I did find them a bit hard to color, they are small with little details, making it a bit harder to watercolor, for me anyway, my eyes are not as good as they once were.

This card is made with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch challenge.

All the DS paper used here is retired from a few different packs. I just pulled some out I liked and I also used pumpkin pie, concord crush and old olive card stock. I cut the circles with my nesties, one for the little witch image and an open concord crush one was created by using two nesties one inside the other, the circle is a bit off but not to bad. I used the inverted scalloped circle nesties in old olive to mat the main image. The sentiment is grom the Grateful Greetings set. I stamped with black stazon and used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up, even with that it took me three times to get it acceptable....UGH!!!

I added some vintage brads three inside the circle and one on each end of the sentiment piece.

Well, that is all from me today, I won't have anymore Halloween for awhile, anyway. LOL!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Halloween Owl!!!

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!!!

I am so excited about today's project share!!! I just got the new Owl Punch!!!1 I have been imagining all the wonderful things I could make with it every since I saw it in the new catalog. There is a bit of a story about almost not getting this order yesterday. I placed my order for this punch a few other things with a friend at her open house, the order was scheduled for delivery yesterday. Lois, my above mentioned friend, picked me up to go to her house for some stamping fun with our new goodies. She picked me up around noon and we did a couple of stops and ate lunch before heading to her house. When we pulled up in front of her house we could see a UPS delivery note on her door......DANG, we had missed him. Her usual driver always left her box in the back on the boat under it's tarp. Well, wouldn't you now it, today a different driver so he was un-aware of the arrangement. We were so upset, NO it just couldn't be that we would have to wait til the next day to get our goodies!!! Not to be deterred Lois sprung into action, called the local UPS office and ask if they could get a hold of the driver to come back or even meet us somewhere, if he was still in the area, and they agreed to try and call us back. Well, an anxious 10 or 15 minutes later the driver called and said he would meet us in 30 minutes at a nearby highway inner section........so we got our goodies, UPS drivers are the BEST!!!!!

When Lois unpacked the box we just ewwwed and ahhhed over all the lovely stuff!! I just held my owl punch and didn't even want to open it!!! LOL!!! But I told Lois, I had an idea about giving my owl a witch's hat and I wanted to make a matchbook treat holder and sooooo he was born!!! Any of you that follow my blog, know how I LOVE all things halloween-ee!!

The match book is made with a piece of Crumb Cake card stock cut to 3 x 9-1/4 inches, scored at 3/4, 5 and 5-1/4 inches The DS paper used is from the retired Cast-A-Spell paper pack, I haven't gotten the new Halloween paper yet, but soon!!!

Here is the open matchbook:

You can put a fun size pack of M&M's or Skittles or something like that in the inside, tuck it in before stapling or use some sticky tape to hold it in.

The bottom strip has a staple but it is covered in the front by my sentiment layer. The letters are from the Naturally Serif sizzlets strip die. I made the hat with my small oval punch for the base and hand cut the top. I added some highlights to the hat and heart with my white gel pen. Well, I hope you like my little Halloween Owl, I am sure you will See more of this owl in the future.

Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

I had such a fun time putting this card together. I used some retired DS paper, Raspberry Fizz and the card stock used is kiwi kiss, rose red and regal rose. I stamped the image from "Elements of Style" onto some watercolor paper, I colored with kiwi kiss and regal rose ink. I added a bit of crushed curry to the flower centers. I cut this out with my circle nesties and matted with some rose red cut with the blossom nesties. I cut another circle with some of the DS paper with the nesties as well. SSSC78.....Because I Care

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING PEEPS!!! It's my favorite time of the week, time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Sample

Here is the fabulous sketch Karen has for us this week:

Love this new Pear Pizzazz in color from SU! I used it for the base of my 5 inch square card. I followed it up with some chocolate chip card stock and then the DS paper is from the Greenhouse Gala paper pack.

For my main image panel I used the Watercolor Trio stamp set. I used pumpkin pie and pear pizzazz to color the flowers and stamped them several times before re-inking. I matted the image with chocolate chip. The next layer is more pear pizzazz that I embossed with the square lattice EF. I added a chocolate chip strip behind that and a chocolate chip photo corner under the embossed piece. The sentiment is from the Because I Care stamp set. I stamped it with chocolate chip ink onto whisper white and punched it out with my large oval punch and matted with the scallop oval punch. I then punched a flower with the retired 3 flower punch and added a white brad a added that to the sentiment piece. I used a new punch for the butterfly, a MS punch, I used some of the DS paper from the same pack and added pearls down the center. I finished it off with some chocolate chip satin ribbon.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

FTL99......My Heart is with You

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!

I am again playing with retired things, waiting on my order to come, Monday. Even then I only have two new stamp sets coming. With needing to buy all the new paper and ink pads I had to limit the stamps, I have a budget, unfortunately.....{insert rolling eyes here}.

I used the sketch from the Clean & Simple Stamping Blog This is FTL 99.

I changed my card to a standard 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 size because after making my main image panel and strips to the side, it just seem to fit this size better. The base of my card is chocolate chip and I followed that up with some riding hood red, glad this color was in the new returning colors, it was one of my faves before. I used my Swiss Dot EF on the riding hood red layer. The DS paper is from the retired Bella Rose paper pack. The flower is from the retired "Bloomin' Beautiful" stamp set. Even tho it is retired, it is new to me, I had always admired this flower from the set and when a friend was selling some of her retired setsd, it I snatched it up.

I stamped the flower with black stazon onto watercolor paper and used riding hood red and old olive to color it with my aqua painter. I added some shadowing with my tombow gray marker. The sentiment is from the "Small Sayings" stamp set, I stamped with riding hood red and matted with chocolate chip. The image panel and the sentiment strip are both mounted with some dimensionals. I decided I wanted to add the peal brad after it was all mounted, so I sniped off the prongs on the back of the brad and used my glue gun to put it on.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

Favorite Friend felt flowers

TGIF PEEPS!!!!

Today's card share is one I made with not one challenge in mind, just for the fun of it. Last week while picking up some cork in town I also picked up a little bit of felt. I used the Blossom Party Die to make my felt flower. The leaves are from the table setting die. When I purchased this felt I thought it might match the new Marina Mist but after getting it home, and comparing it matches the now retired, Take with Teal.

The base of the card is, of course, taken with teal and the DS paper is from another retired paper pack, Autumn Meadows. I was gong for a bit of "shabby chic" the paper fits anyway! I stamped the sentiment from Wonderful Favorites with my basic gray ink pad, stamping off once, again trying for the shabby feeling. The "friend" is stamped with out first stamping off.

I added a scallop border across the middle with some silver pearls. I rounded the bottom corners and added 3 more silver sticky pearls. I pierced all around the top edge and the flower is mounted with some dimensionals.

Well, that is all from me for today, try to stay cool and remember to do something today that makes you happy!

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Lonely Without You

Good Thursday Morning Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made awhile back and hadn't posted. This card was made with one of my new Pure Innocence stamps, this one is called My Balloon. I was also playing around with my copics. I am still learning with these and I am excited that I am taking a class in August. So please go easy with me on my coloring skills! :)

I used some retired DS paper on this, the pack is Good Morning Sunshine, I think. The base of the card is the awesome Pacific Point and the ribbon is some satin Kiwi Kiss.

The sketch for this card is an older Sweet Sunday Sketch. Hopefully I will have something new for you soon, I have some errands to run this afternoon so don't know what I will get done, it has been sooooo HOT here it is just zapping my creativity!

Thanks for coming by today and remember to do something today that make you happy!

MTSC82......hello

Happy Hump Day Peeps!

Today's card share is made with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. I was inspired by this card. I loved how she punched the image out with the extra large flower punch, so I wanted to give it a try.

The base of my card is melon mambo and I followed that with some whisper white and then my three panels across the bottom are old olive, so saffron and melon mambo. Each color was embossed with the square lattice EF.

The main image that is from the set "A flower for All Seasons", was stamped onto whisper white with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter. I added some leaves to the "flower" with old olive punched with the 5-petal flower punch and I ran that through my crimper. I mounted the "flower" to a base of bashful blue {I was thinking sky} that was cut with my scallop circle nesties.

I added a scallop piece across the top of my three panels. The sentiment is from the "Hello Again" stamp set. I stamped it with melon mambo. I added some piercing around the top white panel and around the scallop circle a scallop strip.

Well, that is all from me today, Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment if you have time, I so LOVE to hear from you.

HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

OCC....Getting Corky

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made with the challenge on the Our Creative Corner Blog. The challenge this week is to use cork. Cork is a new medium for me, it is in the new SU catalog, but I had not gotten any yet. I made a trip to my local craft store and picked me up a pack. I am hooked. so fun. I don't know if the pack I got is the same thickness as the one in the catalog, it will be on my next order. I used the Blossom Party die and cut out one flower with the cork and one with some blue felt, another fun alternative to the usual paper.

The base of my card is the one of the new in colors, Pear Pizzazz. I followed that with some bashful blue and the DS paper is from a retired pack, Maine Blueberry. I used a bit of an old book for my scallops and the ribbon is some bashful blue 1 inch I got a couple of weeks ago before it retired and while it was on sale. LOVE IT!!!

I used the sizzlet Little Leaves die alos in pear pizzazz behind my flower. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, I stamped with black stazon onto whisper white. I did use my glue gun to stick the flower on and then added some dimensionals as well.

Well, that is all from me today, I have another cork creation to show you tomorrow, so until then.....HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

SSSC77.....No sentiment

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING PEEPS!!! It's my favorite time of the week, time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Sample

Here is the fabulous sketch Karen has for us this week:

I almost never make a card without a sentiment on the front, I find it really hard not to, but I couldn't make one work here and I started working on the rest of the card and before I knew it the card was together and I had NO sentiment! LOL!!! Too late now huh? I guess not every card needs one and if any one ask, I planned it that way, yea, that's right I didn't want a sentiment on the front.....that's my story and I am sticking to it!!!!

My card measures 3-1/2 inches by 6-1/4 inches. The base is chocolate chip and I followed that with baja breeze, so glad this color is BACK baby!!! The DS paper is from the Greenhouse Gala paper pack. I stamped the flower from the level 1 hostess set, Because I Care set, onto watercolor paper and with black stazon ink. I then used my aqua painter and baja and certainly celery ink to color the flower. I added some chocolate chip satin ribbon and a trinkets pin from my stash.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

CCMC106......4U

Good Saturday Morning Peeps! Sorry to MIA the past couple of days, I was helping a friend get ready for her open house.

Yesterday I had some time to play, got a couple of cards done, this one is made with the sketch on Create with Connie & Mary blog.

This is a really fun sketch, I used a new set from the catalog, Apple Blossom, a level 2 hostess set. It is soooo cute!

I started out with some crumb cake card stock, I followed that with real red and then another piece of crumb cake that was embossed with the sqaure lattice EF. I stamped the long leaf with old olive ink ont whisper white card stock. I matted with crumb cake and real red. I used the scallop edge punch on the real red piece and pierced the scallops with my piercing tool. I added three silver brads and some linen thread to this piece. It is mounted to the base with some dimesionals.

The apple is stamped twice once in brown and old olive and then again with real red. I cut out the real red piece and mounted over the other with a dimesional. This piece is matted with real red and a scallop cirle in crumb cake. I pierced around the scallop circle too. Under this piece is a square of real red that has the corners rounded. I added three more silver brads to the base piece.

Well, that is all from me today, I will be back in the AM with my Sweet Sunday Sketch Card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

MTSC81.......For You

Happy Hump Day Peeps! Hope your week is going well so far!

Today's card share is made with the wonderful sketch on Mercy's Blog, I always love Mercy's sketches, they are so easy to work with!

I wanted to use the new set from the new catalog called "Studio Sketches". They have a Thanksgiving feel, well, to me anyway. I stamped the image onto water color paper with black stazon. I water colored the pitcher with some dusty durango, I wanted it to look like a clay pitcher, uh......maybe. I used some kiwi kiss and certainly celery for my pears. I then used some bashful blue all around the image. Very easy peasy!

I then went looking for the BG papers and again I went for this great, now retired, DS paper Autumn Meadows. I so love the hounds tooth pattern in this pack. I paired this DS paper up with some very vanilla and the new color from the neutrals collection, Early Espresso.

The sentiment comes from the "Elements of Style" stamp set and I used some circle punches to punch out and mat. I added vanilla satin ribbon , gold brads and gold sticky pearls.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Mojo Curtain Call.....Let's Celebrate

Good Tuesday Morning Peeps!

I combined two challenges for today's card share. I used the sketch challenge at the Mojo Monday Blog and the color challenge at Stacey's Stamping Stage.

The colors this week are Tempting Turquoise, Barely Banana, Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo, & Whisper White, it is also Stacey's birthday week, so I used both for my inspiration! The base of the card is white and I followed that with some chocolate chip card stock and then I used melon mambo that I had embossed with the square lattice EF. The DS paper on my card is from the "Island Oasis" paper pack from the summer mini, you NEED this paper, sooooo pretty!

The main image, the stack of presents, is from the retired SAB set "Happy Moments". I stamped with black stazon onto water color paper and colored with my aqua painter and turquoise, melon mambo and barely banana. I added the ground with some chocolate chip. I stamped the sentiment, from the "On Your Birthday" stamp set onto some scrap watercolor paper with chocolate chip ink. I used my nesties to cut out the main image panel and the sentiment.

For embellishments I added some silver pearls, and chocolate chip twill ribbon. I added a button, from my stash, with some jute twine to the bow.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

SFYTT....Birthday Bird

Good Monday Morning Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made with Jen's sketch for you to try!

Don't you just LOVE SU's two step bird punch? I know I do! I teamed this sketch and my bird up with some of my new stuff, I don't have much new yet, but hopefully soon. I used the new DS paper "Greenhouse Gala" and the the card stock used, beside white is pear pizzazz and daffodil delight. The pumpkin pie dotted DS paper used on the bird's wing and the side strip is from the "Island Oasis" DS paper pack in the summer mini.

The sentiment comes from another set from the summer mini, Watercolor Trio. I just love the mixed font sentiments from this set. I added a small spiral clip, non SU and some Pumpkin Pie striped ribbon, retired.

I used the top note die to make one of the edge elements, I used the DS paper and matted it with the daffodil delight. The base of the card is white and I followed that with some pear pizzazz. I pierced all around the edges of the pear using my piercing tool and mat pack.

I bright and summery card for all those Summer Birthdays come up! Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!!

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING PEEPS and HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!! It's my favorite time of the week, time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Sample

Here is the fabulous sketch Karen has for us this week:

I kept my card fairly simple, as those who follow my blog know I have been doing a theme this week, patriotic! It has been so much fun to come up with Americana type cards this week, especially since my patriotic stamp sets are nil. I did borrow, mid week, a couple of sets from a friend. This is the fun set from the summer mini called "July Fourth".

The base of the card is whisper white and I followed that with some night of navy. I used one of the firework stamps and versamark to add a design to the navy card stock I also added a few of the small stars to the navy as well.

The main element is made with whisper white and I stamped the sentiment with night of navy ink. I then inked up the firecracker with real red and summer sun markers and stamped it beside the sentiment. I then added some stars to the corners with real red and navy ink. I used the corner rounder punch on one side and matted with real red. I added a strip of real red under the main image panel with two white brads at one end. The large star is from the same set and is stamped in red and punched out and added to the main panel with some foam tape. I finished off with more white brads an a bit of 1/4 inch grosgrain red ribbon.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week, I would love to see what you come up with, create a card or scrapbook page with this sketch and then go to Karen's blog and link up your project for all of us to see.

PPA49......Let's Celebrate

Good Saturday Morning Peeps!

Here is another star spangled card. I used the inspiration challenge on the Pals Paper Arts Blog I have had the best time this week making nothing but patriotic cards! It has been great to find so many challenges this week that fit my theme week! You don't think they did that just for me do you?? he he!!

Here is the inspiration photo they had to inspire us:

This card has almost no stamping, just the sentiment. I used a base of white and then I followed that up with some night of navy with more white over the top part of that. I added a strip of real red that was pierced and brad-ed. LOL! Is that a word? I used the large and small star punch for the stars in real red, night of navy and white. I added two red brads and a tiny navy button with some white embroidery floss knotted in it.

I am keeping this post short as I have alot to get done, be sure and come by tomorrow for the final patriotic card of the week made with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you have enjoyed this theme week leave me comment and let me know.

HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

CCMC.....Stars & Stripes Forever

TGIF Peeps!!!!!

Today's patriotic themed card in my week long celebration is inspired by the challenge on Create with Connie & Mary. Of course their challenge fit my theme week perfectly, Fourth of July! I also used the color challenge from Stacey's Stamping Stage again.

I am not sure about this one, I don't do distressed well. I like clean and crisp. The base of the card is kraft, I mean Crumb Cake and I followed that up with a layer of real red. I embossed the real red with a star embossing folder, I then used my distressing tool all around the edges and then I just crumpled it all up. I then took a sponge with real red ink and sponged all over, this step is not really showing in the photo. I folded the corners and tore a few places on the edges.

The sentiment and the flag come from the Red, White & Blue jumbo wheel, I borrowed from a friend. She had bought this wheel and cut it all apart. I am soooo doing this myself. I stamped the flag image onto the crumb cake card stock and then distressed the edges. The flag was colored with my real red and night of navy marker. The sentiment is stamped with night of navy ink.

I added some vintage brads and some twill ribbon and a red button with a cotton thread bow.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!!!

MTSC80.....Let's Celebrate

Happy Thursday Morning Peeps!

Today's card is made with Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge # 80

The base of my card is PTI white and then I follwed that with some real red and night of navy. I used the scallop edge punch on the night of navy piece, I also ran it thorugh the cuttlebug with the Swiss Dot EF. The red star piece I created by using a piece of whisper white and a 6x6 star template made by the crafters workshop. This template came in the kit I bought from Taylored Expressions. It looks like this:

I laid the template/stencil over my white cardstock and sponged with real red ink. I LOVE how this came out, it looks like designer paper huh? LOVE IT!!

I added a strip of real red between the star BG paper and the night of navy. The sentiment on this card comes from the "On your Birthday" stamp set. I stamped with night of navy ink and cut the circle and scallop circle with my nesties. I pirced all around the circle. I then added some white satin ribbon to finish.

Well, that is all from me, thanks so much for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!!!
