Merry Monday.....Beary Christmas

Happy Monday Peeps!!

We are back from our one week break with a new Merry Monday Challenge.

Here is the great sketch Lesley has for us this week:

Today I am using a great little digi stamp from Heather Ellis.
I printed the digi out on some white card stock and colored with my copic markers.
I die cut the main piece out with my oval framelits and then used the same framelit to draw and cut out the mat with some Cherry Cobbler card stock.

The sentiment is computer generated and printed out onto some white card stock. I cut and matted it with more cherry cobbler. I added an antique brad to the sentiment banner and some silver pearls to the top corners.
The base of the card is Gumball Green card stock, then a layer of white and the DSP is from the Festival of Print paper pack.
Here is a little close-up of the main image:
I added some stardust stickles under the image and to the pop pom on the bears hat. I used my white get pen to add a few details to the image.
Be sure and hop on over to Lesley's Blog to see what the rest of the Merry Makers did with this great sketch!

Seize the Birthday.....Stylin' Mustache

Hello Peeps!

Second post for today,
I wanted to get my card for this week's Seize the Birthday posted.

This week's is masculine theme with this sketch:

I first saw this idea to use some of the stamps from the Stampin Up "Stylin Snowfolk" to make this guy face on Diane Gibbs. I thought is was so clever and had filed it away in my memory to make myself sometime. Well, sometime was now, masculine cards are really not my forte but I have been trying to make myself do some.
I pulled out some fun DSP called Big Top Birthday from Stampin Up, this is retired but I think you may still be able to pick up a pack off the clearance rack.

The sentiment is from the Made for You stamp set and I added a clip to my circle sentiment pieces. I finished this off with several silver pearls.
Thanks for stopping by and leave me comment, I would love to hear from you!!

Sweet Sunday.......Heartfelt Sympathy

Happy Sunday peeps!!

Here is our Sweet Sketch for this week:

As you can see I flipped the sketch for my card.
I used the Stampin Up "With Love and Sympathy" stamp set. Love the pretty flower in this set.
I used my Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral markers to ink up the image and stamped it twice with out re-inking and then again one more time full strength.
the sentiment I used comes from the retired "Close as a Memory" stamp set.

The DSP on here is all from the same pack the Two for Tea pack.
I added some mini silver brads to the image panel and some half back silver sticky pearls to the top corners.
I promise my top layers on the main image piece are straight, not sure why they look wonky in the picture....hmmmm.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

Dynamic Duos.....Birthday Wishes

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!

It is time for a new color challenge at Dynamic Duos.

This is my last design as a design team member, my 6 month term has came to an end.
Being a part of this team has been a fantastic experience, designing and working beside some of the best!
I want to thank Lesley and Anne Marie for inviting me to be on this fabulous team!

Now on to this awesome color combo!!! I think it such a pretty combo. I knew right away what I wanted to do and what set I would use. The Stampin Up Stippled Rose is perfect! This is a two step stamp set and I stamped one of the base flower with Blushing Bride and then over stamped it with Calypso Coral, then the second rose is made with only Calypso Coral, I just stamped off the the first layer of Calypso and then used it full strength  for the top stamp. I used Crumb Cake ink for the leaves, stamping the base leaf with the Crumb Cake ink once and the top, line stamp, with crumb cake three times. A stamp a ma jig is a must for me with this set!

I used Crumb Cake for the base and then a layer of Blushing Bride. The DSP I used comes from the Tea for Two paper pack.
I colored some vanilla seam binding ribbon using my calypso coral ink pad. I tied an triple loop bow and added an antique brad to the center. The sentiment is from the Occasional Quotes stamp set.
I finished it off with some basic pearls in the top corners and I added a few to the flower centers.
Be sure and hop on over to the Dynamic Duos Blog  to see what the rest of the team did with these colors!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Best of Flowers.....Blue Hydrangea

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing the blue version or yesterday's pink hydrangea card.
As I said yesterday, I am digging this stamp and I guess you all know by know that I love most all flowers for card making. I guess I am predictable in that and I have to ask "Do you all get tired of me making flower cards"?
I just wonder what else I would do if I didn't have flower stamps? May have to answer that question soon as the new flower stamps from Stampin Up seem to be dwindling down each year.
Did you see the retirement list?
Two of my fave stamp sets are going to retirement, "Greeting Card Kids" and  "Beautiful Season". So very sad to see these sets leaving.

Anyway, this card started with a base of Crumb Cake and then some vanilla and the DSP on this one is from the "Print Poetry"  paper pack.

The sentiment here is from the "Happiest Birthday Wishes" stamp set. I used my stamp a ma jig to position the words on my circle piece.
I colored the flower with some Midnight Muse ink and added a bit of More Mustard to the flower centers.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Best of Flowers......Pink Hydrangea

Hello Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the Stampin Up "Best of Flowers" stamp set.
I love this hydrangea in the set. It is a smaller version of  another favorite hydrangea from the retired "Because I Care" set. It is not exactly the same, so this one my have been in a different set that I am not familiar with, not sure of that but either way I really like it, I wasn't sure when I received the set if I would care for the smaller versions, but after playing with this one I am hooked!!!

I started out by picking out my DSP which comes from the lovely "Fan Fair" paper pack.
I paired it up with some vanilla cream and Crumb Cake card stock.

I stamped the flower twice and colored the head using Primrose Petals ink pad and my aqua painter.
I used Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.
The sentiment is from the retired Stampin Up "Occasional Quotes" stamp set.
I made two versions of this card, I will show you the other one tomorrow.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Color Challenge.....Happiest Wishes

Happy Tuesday Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the color challenge this week at Splitcoaststampers.
The colors are some of the retiring colors from Stampin' Up, Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and River Rock!
Seriously, what are they thinking....LOL!!
Love all three of these colors, but I am sure we will embrace the new colors as well, I must say the upcoming NEW IN COLORS are soooooo pretty!!! Can't wait to get those!

Anyway on to the card, I went with a layout I seem to use alot, simple but pretty.
The DSP you see here is from the Simply Sent Everyday Elegance Kit..
The base of the card is Not Quite Navy and then Baja Breeze and then some whisper white at the top of the next layer, I embossed that with the perfect dot EF.
Then the bottom of this layer is the DSP from the Simply Sent Kit, actually the kit contains cards, I just cut them apart to use the parts I want.

I stamped the roses with baja and not quite navy, the leaves are river rock, I achieved the two tones of river rock by stamping the top stamp several times, re-inking with the river rock each time.
The sentiment comes from the "Happiest Birthday Wishes" and is stamped with Not Quite Navy Ink onto the whisper white circle.
I added some sticky back silver pearls to the flower centers, the top corners of the card and under the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Baby Girl Congratulations

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I have a cute baby card to share. If you remember a while back I said that my BFF's daughter was expecting her first baby and was about to find out the sex.
I had created a couple of baby cards in anticipation of the announcement.
Well,  they found out that "It's a Girl"!!
Yay!! That is what they were hoping for, so happy for them and for my friend, her first grandchild.
And I must say, happy for me, cos I get to be a "Great Aunt"!!

Anyway,  on to the card, I pulled out a fave retired set. This is called "A New Little Someone".
Such a sweet little bunny. I also used some retired DSP and some soon to retired card stock. Regal Rose will soon be gone, This is one of the colors I hate to see go.

The sentiment is from the single stamp called "Two by Two. I masked off the image and just used the sentiment. I also have a few other goodies in the works for the baby's arrival so I hope to show you those later.
That is all from me today, if you stopped by looking for my Merry Monday card, Lesley is sick with the flu and has postponed this week. We will be back next Monday tho, so don't forget to come by then!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Seize the Birthday...Vintage Birthday Wishes

Happy Sunday Peeps!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at Seize the Birthday.

This week it is feminine birthday cards we are to make. My favorite!

I pulled out the Stampin Up "Best of Flowers" stamp set and stamped this pretty hydrangea onto some confetti white card stock twice. I colored the image with my aqua painter and ink pads, I used Not Quite Navy and Pear Pizzazz. I added a bit of More Mustard for the flower centers and used some Crumb Cake to "age" it a bit.
I cut out the flower headon the second image and added it over the first with some dimensionals.
The main image is die cut with my circle nesties and the image is matted with a "Delicate Doilies" die cut.

The base of the card is Night of Navy, that is sadly retiring and then a layer of the confetti white card stock.
All of the DSP on here is from the Stampin Up "Fan Fair" paper pack.
The sentiment is from the "Made For You" stamp set. I used my circle punches, 1-1/4 and 1-3/8 for the sentiment and mat.
I added a bow made with some very vanilla seam binding ribbon that I swiped through my crumb cake ink pad to age it a bit and added a crumb cake corduroy brad to the center. I finished it off with some basic pearls. Looks a bit "vintage" don'tcha think?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Dynamic Duos.....Happy Birthday

Today over at Dynamic Duos we have a great new challenge for you:

Love the black and gray combo and the desert option of making a Masculine theme.
I dug through my stash and found these stamped images that I have had for several years and never used. They would be perfect for the theme and colors I thought.
The images are from the retired Stampin Up set called "Classic Convertibles".
The are stamped onto some very lite gray card stock with black stazon.
The DSP is from some more Stampin Up retired items. this is from the Nouveau Chic paper pack. I was looking through all my papers to find some with black or gray and came across this pack.

These cards came together rather quickly for me, and since we are going masculine, not a lot of "fufu-ing", LOL, is that a word?
I kept the design fairly simple using basic black for the base and then basic gray for the next layer.

I added the DSP under the stamped image and used some basic gray taffeta ribbon between the two. I tied a knot with the ribbon and used a couple of black brads at the top.
The sentiment comes from the "Made for You" stamp set. and is stamped onto the same paper as the image and punched out using the Ticket Duo punch. I added the sentiment with some dimensionals.

Be sure and hop on over to the Dynamic Duos Blog and
see what the rest of the girls did with these colors.

Thinking of You

Hello Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made last year  for the the June Paper Crafters Sampler
This one of my favorite creations from my term on the design team.

The theme for that month was "Penned Post" and I remember having such a hard time deciding what to do for that theme. One of the things Melanie had suggested was the "faux postage technique" and that was the inspiration for this card.
I used the Stampin Up set called "kindness Matters". I had such a fun time making the 'faux stamps" and coloring those butterflies.

If you want to know more about how I created this card you can still get a copy of the issue this was created for right HERE.

Merry Monday....Joys of the Season

Merry Monday Peeps!!!
Today Lesley at Always Playing with Paper has a fun new sketch for us:

I pulled out my Stampin Up "Winter Memories" stamp set  to use this sled and cardinal stamp.
I stamped the image onto some confetti cream card stock with black stazon and colored using my aqua painter and ink pads.
The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler and then a layer of cream and then the DSP is from the "Be of Good Cheer" paper pack.

The sentiment is from a small Hero Arts set and is stamped with black stazon and punched out with my 1-3/8 inch punch and I used my 1-1/2 inch punch and cherry cobbler to mat the circle.
I used some ribbon for my flag elements from the sketch, I used some vanilla velvet ribbon (retired) and some cherry cobbler scallop ribbon.
I pierced all around the main image and colored a few small pearls with a copic marker to add to the wreath,
I finished it up with more pearls in the corners.

Now be sure and hop on over to Lesley's Blog to see what the rest of the Merry makers
did with this great sketch.

Sweet Sunday.....Congratulations

Happy Sunday peeps!!

Here is our Sweet Sketch for this week:

I was inspired by my sweet friend Wendy Jansen at It's All About Stamping to pull out this sweet little single stamp from Stampin Up called "Two by Two" she had posted a card she made with earlier this week and it made me want to give one a try. I have had this stamp for a long time and have not made anything with it, I have tried to color it a time or two but never liked my results, but I was determined this time.

My first thoughts was to make a sweet little baby girl card, my best friends daughter is expecting and they find out next week what she is having and I wanted to have both a girl and boy card in my stash so I could send the appropriate one when they find the out the sex. I have a baby boy card already but when I was coloring and then matching paper I realized this card was just going to have to be for a boy.

I stamped and colored the image twice so I could cut out the animals and add them over the top of the the bottom image with some dimensionals. I used my copics to color the image.

Here is a close up of the little animals:

Aren't they sweet?
The DSP on here comes from the Sycamore Street paper pack which was a freebie during SAB. Love the colors in these papers.

The base of the card is Island Indigo and then a layer of Pool Party and then the DSP.
I changed the sketch just a bit by making my center strip with the "flag" end instead of going all the way across the bottom. That strip is tangerine tango card stock that I embossed with "Chevron" EF.

The sentiment is part of the single stamp I just stamped onto a scrap of white and cut out and added across the bottom of the circle.
I finished this off with two small silver brads.

Be sure and check out what the rest of the team has made with this sweet sketch:

Seize the Birthday....Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday Peeps!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Seize the Birthday

This week we are to use the sketch and make a feminine card.
i pulled out this sweet Stampin Up set called "Little Friends" to make my card this week.
I stamped the image onto some confetti card stock with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.

I used the oval framelits to cut out and traced around the outside edge of the same framelit and cut out for the mat. I used so saffron card stock.
The DSP on here is from the Storytime paper pack.
The sentiment is from the "Create a Cupcake" stamp set.
I have been asked a few times to share what I do to the inside of my cards so here is this one:

I don't always add an image to the inside, but thought I would give it a try on this one.
I also added a bit of the DSP that I used on the front.

Well, that is all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Merry Monday....Christmas Bells

Merry Monday Peeps!!!
Today Lesley at Always Playing with Paper has a fun new sketch for us:

I flipped the sketch, well actually it is a mirror image of the sketch.
I moved the flag panel piece to the opposite side to accommodate my sentiment piece.
My image of the pretty bells  comes from the Stampin Up "Bells and Bough" stamp set and I was very much inspired by THIS BEAUTY created by the super talented Amy White.
I loved how she colored and layered the image and wanted to try it myself.

Here is a closeup pic of the layers:

The DSP on here is from the Festival of Prints pack and the pretty plaid is from the Storytime pack.
The sentiment is from the "Open Sleigh" stamp set.
I added some crystal effects to the berries and covered the rest of the image with a bit of shimmer paint:

The base of the card is Riding Hood Red, one of the colors that is retiring. I then added a lyer of white and then the DSP.
I think this may be my favorite Christmas card, I have made so far this year!

Now be sure and hop on over to Lesley's Blog to see what the rest of the Merry makers
did with this great sketch.
Thanks for stopping by today and
HAPPY STAMPING!!!
