Paper Players.....Happy Birthday

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week at The Paper Players.
This week is a sketch:

I love a sketch and I still have new goodies so I had to play along!

I started with a base of white card stock. I then used a layer of one of the new in colors. Mint Macaron. I then used more white and embossed with the Brick Wall EF, I can not tell you how much I LOVE this embossing folder.
I stamped a few flowers and leaves from the new Birthday Blossoms stamp set and colored with Mint Macaron ink. The centers are Delightful Dijon.

The sentiment is from the tin of cards stamp set. I used a strip of Mint across the bottom and the other piece is from the In color Envelope Paper. I cut out the flowrs and layered them around the circle. I cut the leaves apart and tucked them around the flowers. I used one of the In Colors Blossom Accents in the center of the middle flower. I placed three silver sequins around and called it done.

Fab Friday on Monday

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge
this week at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog.

I think this is the first time for me to play along with this challenge.

The challenge this week is to use the new In-Colors. Use a few or use all.

I ended up using four of the five colors. You may remember this card, I made awhile back using one of the butterfly dies. At that time I thought of making some just with some bright pretty colors inlaid into the die cuts and this was the perfect excuse to do that.
I guess it would be easier to just lay a black cut out butterfly over the colored cardstock I wanted to use, but that is not the look I was going for.
I die cut three black butterflies using one of the Bold Butterfly dies and then die cut again with three of the in colors I was using.
I glued the black butterfly down to some scrap white card stock and then inlaid the colored pieces.
I used Delightful Dijon, Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron

The base of the card is the Tip top Taupe and I embossed one of the layers with the Brick Wall EF.
The sentiment on here is from the new Birthday Blossoms stamp set.
I added some twine for the antennas and three little pearls down the body.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Sweet Sunday.......Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday Peeps!

Here is the sweet sketch for this week:

I pulled out my new Timeless Love stamp set. I am always a bit intimidated by sketches with repetitive elements like this, so I had to resort to my comfort zone, FLOWERS!

This is a fabulous new set and I LOVE it.

I stamped three images of this flower and colored them up
I then hand cut out all those babies! :)
Super sweet I think

I used another new item, the Brick Wall EF, love that this EF is bigger to accommodate a larger piece of paper
The sentiment is from the Hostess set called Happy Birthday Everyone. Love that big pretty font.

My challenge to you is to plant
a tree, er,well, just include
a tree or branch on your project. That might be easier.

I started my card with a base of Crumb Cake card stock.
Next is the main layer which is stamped using the Stampin Up Sheltering Tree stamp set.

The sun is from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set.

I used the Fabulous Four stamp set for my sentiment.

This is as close I can get to a one layer card, flat and easy to mail!

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Popping in here quickly with a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches:

The flower on here is from the Remarkable You stamp set, Love the images in this set!

I stamped and colored the flower and leaves using my aqua painter.
I used Calypso Coral and Old Olive ink.

The DSP is from the Painted Petals stack. the sentiment and squiggle lines are from the Tin of Cards stamp set, this set is awesome, I love the fonts and the other fun elements.
I stamped the sentiment directly onto the DSP as well as the squiggly lines.

Card concept......Hello

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!

Time for a new challenge at The Card Concept Blog.

Here is our inspiration piece:

I was inspired by the colors and by of course the flowers. Altho my flower is not a daisy as in the pic but still a flower. I started my card off with the flower from the You've Got This stamp set. I stamped the flower with some Basic Gray ink. I colored the flower using So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Smoky slate and some Whisper White craft inks,

The base of the card is white and then a layer of Smoky Slate. Next is a layer of So Saffron that I embossed with the Decorative Dots EF.

I had some fun with the Hello Die. I die cut 6 of the Hello's and layered and glued them all together.
I then used some Crystal Effects on the layered die cut. It is thick and shiny and really pretty IRL,
I used a few rhinestones and some Bakers twine to make a bow.

Be sure and head over to the Card Concept Blog to see what the rest of the team did with this pretty inspiration piece. I hope you can play along with us this week.

Freshly Made Sketches......Birthday Wishes

Happy Monday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I am enjoying the Moon Lake stamp set from the past mini, a friend let me borrow, I am sad this one did not make it to the new catalog, I love the images in it and it makes guys cards really easy.

For this card I used the goose and cattails stamp. I stamped it with black stazon onto white card stock.
I then used my aqua painter and ink pads to lay in some color. Keeping it fairly simple, I used Crumb Cake ink for the goose and tops of the cattails and Old Olive for the bottom of the cattails.
The water and is washed in with Pool Party and a bit of Lost Lagoon and the sky is Soft Sky ink.

The sentiment is from the Build a Birthday stamp set.
The base of the card is Basic Black.
I mounted the image piece onto some Silver Foil paper and then edged that with some DSP from the Neutrals pack.
I then added two small banners in the bottom corner using the same DSP and a piece of the Silver foil. I added a couple of staples and it is done.
I love the clean look of this card but the picture does not really show the silver foil as well as I hoped. My card ended up being slightly smaller that the average A2 size because I had stamped and colored my main panel on a piece of white before I realized the piece was not quite as long as I thought, so I just cut down the card base a bit to make it fit. :)

Sweet Sunday......Celebrate

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch we have this week:

Since the 4th is just around the corner, and the sketch had stars (of course you do NOT have to use stars) I immediately knew what I wanted to do.

I started with a card base of Naturals card stock.
I then uses some red stripe paper from a past Paper Pumpkin Kit.
The Night of Navy is made with the Hearst and stars Decorative Mask (stencil)
I used some modeling paste along with the mask to add the white stars, I love the look of that technique.

I added a strip of  silver glimmer paper across at an angle.
The large star comes from the Be the Star stamp set and scored the lines in the star and folded it to create a 3-D effect.
I added some looped twine behind and attached the large star with dimensionals.
The smaller stars are punched out with the star punch in the itty bitty punch pack.
The celebrate is from the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set.
Be sure and head over to the Sweet Sunday Sketch Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this sketch.

Crazy 4 Challenges...Birthday

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!

Time or a new challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges Blog.

This week it is a fun sketch:

I modified the sketch just a bit for my card. I always am intimidated a bit by sketches with small elements like this one, I never know what to do with them. So when I went to make my card I started by looking through my stamps and I came across my tag Talk stamp set, which I had never used, I thought the images would work for the sketch.
My first thought was stamping them onto black and embossing with white for a chalkboard look.
I used versmark ink and white embossing powder. I then used the label bracket punch to punch out the three images.

The base of the card is Basic Black and then a layer of white and then another layer of basic black. The DSP is from the Neutrals pack.
I added a white doily to the middle and then the three punched pieces are added to the base with dimensionals.
I then used the Petite Flowers stamp set with Calypso coral ink for the flowers. I also stamped a couple flower in Old olive for the leaves.
the flowers are added to the side pieces with dimensionals. The leaves are just tucked around the flowers here and there. The centers are Crushed Curry candy dots.
Be sure and head over to the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog

Star Treat Box

Happy Friday Peeps!

You know how you will have something for a long long time and never use it? Especially when it comes to a crafting item or pattern? You had to have it when you first saw it and then you just file it away and forget about it. You look at it every once in awhile and think I need to make something with that. This little box is one of those things.
I have had the template for this cute little box forever, years I think and I had never made it.

I ran across it earlier this week while looking at some files on my computer, so I printed it out and decided to make a matching little treat box to my Celebrate 4th of July card.

It is so cute!
I printed it out directly onto the Real Red card stock and cut it out. It has the cut and score lines marked so it makes it very easy.

I again used some of the papers I have from a past Paper Pumpkin kit. Love that striped paper, the kit was actually a Christmas kit but it looks great for a patriotic theme as well.
The stars are from the Be the Star stamp set. I added a few little glimmer stars that are from the garland in the kit.
I didn't close up the top of the box so it is easy opening to fill.
I threaded some ribbon through the lid and through the star on top looping it at top and knotting it on the inside of the lid.
I then add a bow around the top loop.
I did add some small brads to the side to hold the dispenser part in a permanent position, this could be glued or left loose to allow it to close up.

I do not even remember where I got this template and upon doing a quick internet search I could not find it available any longer.

This fun little dispenser type box would be cute for many holidays or celebrations,  Halloween, Valentine or any type party favors.

I have another card to show you using this same theme, it will be up on Sunday, so be sure and stop by then.

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Sweet Sunday.....Birthday Wishes

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Time for a new sketch challenge over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Blog

Here is the wonderfully layered sketch that we have to work with this week:

You know I love to layer up my cards. I started with a base of Crumb Cake card stock.
Then next up is some Early Espresso card stock and a layer of  Early Espresso DSP from the Neutrals stack.
Have I mentioned how much I love the new DSP stacks, the paper is awesome, dots, stripes and handwriting are a few of my favorites.
I knew I wanted to build an ice cream cone using some Watermelon Wonder card stock and make some "drippy chocolate" with the Early Espresso card stock so that was my starting point. I pulled out my Sprinkles of Life stamp set and begun to build my yummy treat.
The cone is Crumb Cake card stock stamped with Crumb Cake ink. I fussy cut it out and sponged the edges a bit with more Crumb Cake ink. I added the base to the white card stock with some dimensionals. This set has a matching punch that makes things so much easier. I then punched out two scoops of the ice cream using the Watermelon Wonder card stock.
I added some "sprinkles" using Early Espresso ink. The chocolate topping is also made using the punch. I just hand cut the bottom after punching to make it look like drips.

The circle element to the side is Watermelon Wonder that I embossed with the Decorative Dot EF.
I added two small Flags to the side for element in the sketch. I used the small banner punch and the DSP is from the Cherries on Top stack.
The sentiment comes from the Build a Birthday stamp set.
I added a small little gold ribbon to the banners and the sticks are some skewers that I cut down.
I added some Crystal Effects to the chocolate on the cone and called it done.
Looks Yummy to me!!!

Crazy 4 Challenges....Masculine Birthday Greetings

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Time for a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog

We have a fun challenge for you this week:

With Father's Day just around the corner lets make a masculine card.
Whether it is colors, textures, or stamps include a little masculine touch.

Masculine cards are not my favorite to make, but I do love the images in the Stampin Up Moon Lake stamp set, and they do work well for a masculine themed card.

I stamped the image onto some Naturals Ivory card stock and colored it with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I used Baked Brown Sugar for the tree trunk, Mossy Meadow for the tree leaves. The water is colored with Coastal Cabana and the boat is Smoky slate and Cajun Craze ink.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake cardstock, followed by a layer of the Naturals Ivory and then another square piece of Crumb Cake that is tilted and trimmed

The sentiment is stamped with Black Memento Ink and comes from the Wetlands stamp set.
The main image is matted with Crumb Cake and then trimmed with some DSP from the Typeset paper pack.
I used the Banner Punch with the same DSP and stapled it to the top of the image piece.

Be sure and head over to the Crazy 4 Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team did with this "masculine" challenge.

Freshly Made Sketch.....Celebrate

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I love all things patriotic and I love making patriotic cards.
This one was fun to put together.
I used some things from a past Paper Pumpkin kit, the red striped paper and the string of stars are some leftovers I have in my stash. Really I have a lot of leftovers. LOL!!

The base of the card is Naturals card stock then I used  the Lucky Stars EF to emboss some Night of Navy card stock and also some of the Naturals.
I added a small strip of the red striped paper sown the side of the Naturals card stock.
I made a rosette with the same paper and added it to the base with some glue.
The blue star is from the Be The Star stamp set and I used Night of Navy ink. I cut it out and added it to the rosette with some dimensionals.
Next is the small glimmer star added with another dimensional.
I used a sentiment from the Endless Birthday Wishes set and embossed it with white embossing powder.
The string of stars is also added with a few dimensionals.

A peek at the inside:

Card Concept.....Here for You

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!!

Time for another new challenge at The Card Concept Blog.

Here is our inspiration piece for this challenge:

I was inspired by the pretty purples and white in this photo for my card.

It is no secret how much I love this new Stampin Up hostess set called Best Thoughts.

I used Wisteria Wonder and just a touch of Blackberry Bliss to watercolor this flower, the leaves are Garden Green.

Wisteria is such a pretty lavender color and I love a square card and this large flower image lends itself very well to making a bigger size card.

I add some glimmer paper to the card cos...well, cos I love it!!

I have not used the antique brads on anything in a long time and decided to pull them out for this card.

Be sure to hop on over the the Card Concept Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this challenge, I know you will find a lot of inspiration and varies designs and interpretations of the inspiration piece.

Thanks for coming by today!

Sweet Sunday.......Amazingly Amazing

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Time for another new sketch at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

Hee is the "sweet" sketch we have for you this week:

As you can see I flipped the sketch
so I could use this awesome flower from the You've Got this stamp set.

I started with some water color paper and Versmark ink, I then embosses with some white embossing powder.

I then colored the flower in with my ink pads, I used Watermelon Wonder and Delightful Dijon for the flower head and then some Cucumber Crush for the stem and leaves.

I left the rest of the card fairly simple to let my flower be the star.
I matted the main image with some Crumb Cake card stock.
The base of the card is Crumb Cake and then another layer of Crumb Cake.

The DSP on here is from the new Neutrals pack.
I added the flag using some Watermelon Wonder card stock.
The sentiment is from the Painted Petals stamp set.
The flower is mounted to the main card using some dimensionals.

Be sure and head over to the Sweet Sunday Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this awesome sketch!

Crazy 4 challenges......Sunshine

Happy Saturday Peeps!!!
Time for another new challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges Blog

It is a new month so that means
a new hostess, Danielle Lounds and a new Guest Designer, Debra Hensley

Our challenge this week is:

This time of the year the sun finally comes out in full force.
To celebrate, include a little sunshine on your project.
Sun images, lots of bright yellow or your favorite sun ray folder/die cut would all work.

I pulled out a couple of sets to use on my card, I wanted to use the Ray of Sunshine set to make my sun image. This is a really fun set, the solid circle is separate and then there are several options for the rays. Long, short, and curved. It was really easy to line up my rays I loved that!

The sentiment comes from the same set, it has a few "Sunshiney' sentiments, but I am rally fond of this one.

After stamping the sun, rays and sentiment,
I pulled out the leaves from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and added them to the corners of the card.
I stamped one on scrap and popped it up over the one on the base,

I used the Petite Flowers to add a bit of color and the butterfly is from the Kinda Eclectic set too.

I added a few little pearls to the butterfly and flower center to finish it up.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to head over to the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this Sunshine Challenge!!!

Happy Stampin!!

Freshly Made Sketch......You Are My Sunshine

Happy Thursday Peeps!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week on The Freshly Made Sketches Blog.

I wanted to use the Butterfly Thinlits to make this pretty Monarch type butterfly. I was sooooo late getting on board with these butterfly dies, I do not know why????? I didn't get them when they were first released and by the time I did want them they were out of stock  and on back order for a long time.
I have had so much fun with this die in particular out of the set. I decided to inlay them with color to mimic a Monarch Butterfly. I love seeing them in the late Summer here, and I think everyone can relate to their beauty in some way.

Anyway I die cut the butterfly first with Basic Black card stock and then glued it onto some scrap white card stock. I then die cut it again with White, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry card stock. I then begun to glue in the individual pieces. That took a bit of time and was a little tedious but I do love the look.

The base of my card is Crumb Cake and then a layer of white and then another piece of Crumb Cake that I stamped with the Hardwood BG stamp. I used Crumb Cake ink for that.
I then used a doily for the circle element in the sketch. Next layer is the piece that the butterfly is mounted onto. I used white and Crushed Curry card stock for that. I hand drew in the butterfly trail trail lightly with a pencil and used my mat and piercing tool to poke the holes.
I added this piece to the base with some dimensionals.

The sentiment is embossed with white embossing powder onto black card stock. The sentiment comes from the Ray of Sunshine stamp set.

I added some rhinestones down the middle of the butterfly graduating the sizes downward as I went.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Happy Stampin!!!!

Hello, you.....Bag in a Box

Happy Tuesday Peeps!!

Yesterday I had the day off work and so I spent some time at my stamp table, after I got a few cards made for some design team work I decided to play a bit.

I had seen a a bag like this on Pintrest and wanted to make one.
I used some of the New Bohemian DSP. The colors in this pack just ROCK!!!

I followed a video tutorial HERE, just making a couple of modifications.

I used Blueberry Bliss cardstock for the trim and handles.

The fun part was creating the little hang tag. The sentiment comes from the retiring Regarding Dahlias stamp set. The flowers are stamped from the Petite Petals stamp set, in Delightful Dijon and Blackberry Bliss ink. Punched out with the matching punch. I made the leaves with the same flower just stamped with Old Olive and punched out and cut apart. I used the silver Mini Brads for the flower centers.
The stamped image across the bottom is also Blackberry Bliss ink and the stamp is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set
I added a bit of silver ribbon and added the tag to my bag handle with a little chain.
After making this one I decide to make a little smaller one and use some of the new DSP from the Cherry on Top 6x6 paper pad.

How much do you LOVE that cute little cherry paper???!!!!
I will be filling these little cuties with some sweet treats.

Thanks for stopping by and if you make one of these I would love to see it.

thanks for stopping by today
