Curvy Keepsake Box Challenge

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Today I have a couple of Curvy Keepsake Boxes to share with you.

As you know my friend Wendy at WeeBeeStampin4Fun
and I do an occasional challenge,
where one of us pick the challenge, and this time it was my turn,
I made it easy, use the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit Die.

I decide to embrace two of the upcoming Fall/Winter Holidays, my two favorites, Halloween and Christmas.

My first box for Halloween is made using Elegant Eggplant card stock. I used the star stamp from the Be the hero stamp set. I stamped with Elegant Eggplant ink directly onto the cardstock before putting the box together.

I then created my "tag" starting with the half moon shape. I used my circle punch and then slipped the circle back into the punch to make the crescent shape moon. I used a piece of the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and the Tree Builder Punch to make my puffy, glimmery cloud. I did hand cut the cloud down a bit after punching it out to make it a bit smaller.
I then used the Tags 4 You stamp set to stamp my Trick or Treat piece. I stamped first with black and then with Old Olive and then pumpkin Pie. I cut out the words and glued them to the black piece. I fussy cut this out myself cos I couldn't find my Label Bracket Punch at the time (I have since found it right under my nose BTW).
I then added a punched out bat using the retired SU bat punch.
These pieces are all glued together to make my tag. I then tied it onto the box with a bit of silver 1/8 inch ribbon.

Next up is made with some non SU paper, you all know how crazy I am about this vintage looking sheet music paper and I knew I had to try a box made with it. It is not doubles sided paper and is very thin so I cut out some Basic Black cardstock with my die and used it to back the paper.

I then used some retired Cherry Cobbler Chevron ribbon to tie up my box and made a pretty bow.
I then used a couple of my favorite rusty jungle bells to embellish the bow.
The tag comes from the Tags 4 You stamp set, (the same as the Halloween tag) and is stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink. I punched a small hole in the tag and tied it onto the bow with a bit of linen thread.

Be sure and head over to Wendy's Blog to see her take on this creative challenge.

Freshly Made Sketches......hello

Happy Thursday Peeps!!!
Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I started of my card with a base of Pool Party cardstock, this is such an awesome color it is sooooo sooooo pretty!! Why don't I use it more, it is almost like I had forgot how pretty it is.
I paired it with the "Crazy About You" stamp set and when I stamped the flower from that set with Daffodil Delight and laid it with the Pool Party....BINGO!!! Love that combo!

The next layer is another piece of Pool Party that I embossed with the Dtylish Stripes EF.
I then used a piece of DSP from the Neutrals Pack in Basic Black
I wrapped the piece up and over the top of the embossed piece.
I had cut the flag look into the DSP. I have that Banner Punch on my wish list but haven't gotten it yet.

I stamped three of the flower with Daffodil ink and then cut them out and layered them up using a dimensional between each layer.
I stamped two of the leaves from this same st using Wild Wasabi ink and fussy cut them out.
I arranged the leaves and the flower on my die cut circle and added the piece to the base with more dimensionals.
I die cut the hello using the Greeting Thinlits and some Basic Black cardstock.
I added this piece to my card using some pieces of dimensionals and some glue.
I finished it up with just one Basic Pearl in the center of the flower.

Congratulations

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made yesterday.

I wanted to use some of the papers from the Stampin Up Go Wild paper pack. I bought this pack on my very first order from the new catalog and I had not used it. I have ogled it, and caressed it and loved it but had not yet put it on a card or project.

I think for me it will be used for some fun boxes and bags, as I have a hard time getting it to work here. I do adore the prints in this pack, but you all know I am more of a flowery card maker.

Do you like this card? Does it work?

It is a bit of an odd size, well not really but it is just 4-1/4 by 5.
I had a piece of Tip Top Taupe already cut to this size in my cut pile so I decided to use it.
I attached the base to a folded piece of out new Heavy Whisper White card stock.
I love this new heavier card stock.

The elephant from the Zoo Babies stamp set as is the Congratulations sentiment.
I stamped the elephant in Tip Top Taupe twice. I cut out the ear on the second one and added over the first with some dimensional.
I decide to add the sentiment down the side along with the other flags. I also used some of the gold strung sequins. I used a staple to add the sentiment.
After I finished it up I decided to add the bird image for a bit of color and whimsy.
I stamped the bird on separate piece of scrap whisper white. The legs are Daffodil delight and the beak is Pumpkin Pie. I fussy cut him out and added him on the elephant's back.

Well, that is all from me today!

Be sure and come back by on Friday because my friend Wendy and I have another creative challenge to share with you!

Thanks for stopping by!

You Will Be Missed

Hello Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made to go along with the gift I showed you yesterday that was for a friend and coworker.
I had to use my favorite stamp set, Stampin Up Good Thoughts, I have said before I love this flower and I am sure you will be seeing it more and more. Hope you don't mind!
I stamped the image onto some Naturals card stock and then again on some scrap naturals, I colored using Melon Mambo and Garden Green inks, I fussy cut out the top of the flower and set it aside.
I used the retired French Foliage stamp set to 'grunge" up my BG around my flower a bit. I used Crumb Cake ink for that and stamped off once before stamping around the flower. I didn't worry to much about getting it on my flower as I knew I would be adding the blossom piece of the flower over the top of the bottom image.

The sentiment on here comes from the Wild about Flowers stamp set. I stamped it twice onto some scrap paper and used my Label Bracket punch. I trimmed off the bottom portion of the punched piece to make it straight across the bottom. I sponged the edges with Crumb cake and added a staple on each side and stacked the two together with some dimensionals. No need to stamp the sentiment twice as I did cos the bottom doesn't show but I was not thinking about that at the time, I just knew I wanted to stack the sentiment to make it stand out a bit more.
The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock and then a layer of the Naturals card stock. The DSP is from the Neutrals pack/ The black striped piece comes from the Neutrals pack as well.

We had a little going away party for Lynn at a local restaurant on Sunday and I gave her the framed piece, a small matching Faith pin and this card. She seemed to like them very much and that made me happy.

Thanks for stopping by today!

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Framed Art for a Friend

Hello Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a framed piece that I made for a friend/co-worker who is making a big change in her life.
She is moving across country and I am sure going to miss her.

You know how there are some people who come into your life and make a big impact?
Lynn is one of those people for me.
She can just make you feel better when you are around her, she is one of those people who make you a want to be a better person.
She is a person I have great respect for, She had been through a lot in her life, from losing her husband to losing everything in that horrible tornado that came through Joplin a few years back and changed how most people in this area look at life.
I was saddened when she said she was leaving but I know she needs to follow where her heart is leading her.
I wanted to make her something, something that she would love and something that would bring her some joy.
Then I remembered THIS item that I saw a few years back on Becca Feeken's blog
I loved the piece she hand made and back then, I think it was in 2010, I ordered the stamp sentiment from Queitfire Designs and had gotten a bunch of the heart pins from Wal Mart and they had been just hanging out in my stash every since.
Now was the time to pull them out.

Hubby built the frame for me.

Don't you love that quote:

  1. When you come to the end of all the light you know, and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: either you will be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly.

Lynn is a women of deep faith and I know she will be fine.
I will miss her and I am glad for social media we have today so I can keep up with her.
Best of luck to you my sweet friend.
You will be missed!

Sweet Sunday......thanks

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sweet sketch we have for you this week:

I pulled out my Stampin Up Remarkable You stamp set.
Love the flowers in this set and I stamped two of the three flowers onto some white card stock, stamping one of them twice. I stamped the leaf branch a couple of times as well. I used Black Stazon so I could water color my images.
I used Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight for the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves.
I fussy cut them out and set aside.

The base of the card is white followed by a piece of basic black and then another white that I emboseed with the Decorative Dots EF.
I die cut a circle and added it to the base and then proceeded to build my flower arrangement.
I used dimensionals to add the flowers.
I cut apart the leaves and tucked them in and around the flowers.
The sentiment is from the Fabulous Four stamp set. I masked off the portion I wanted to use and stamped onto some black card stock with Versamark
I then embossed with my white embossing powder.
I cut the v's in the ends and added it to the card using some dimensionals.
I finished up with a few sequins from the Brights sequin assortment pack.
Now be sure and hop over to the Sweet Sunday Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this great sketch!

Crazy 4 Challenges- Love is....

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

It is time for a new challenge at Crazy 4 Cahllenges.

This week Karen's challenge for us is:

C4C296: MAKE IT ROYAL! Use Royal Colours and/
or Royal Images - your choice.

I don't think I have any Royal images so I choose to go with the Royal Colors.

I wondered about this a bit but decided that gold and purple seem royal to me.

I stamped the flower from the Stampin Up set "You've Got This" using Versmark and then embossed with white embossing powder.
I colored the image with my Aqua Painter and ink pads. I used Elegant Eggplant, Crushed Curry and Mossy Meadow ink pads.
I then cut it out and popped it up onto some Naturals card stock.
I then matted this piece with some Eggplant card stock.

The base of the card is some more Naturals card stock and then a layer of Gold Foil. The bottom piece is some Gold Fancy Foil Vellum. I tied a piece of the gold bakers twine around the base and tied a bow.
The flower piece is added to the base with dimensionals.
I used some eggplant card stock and the Crazy About You stamp set to make my sentiment.
I used versamark and embossed. I punched out my "love is" words using the Bow Builder Punch.
The "is" is actually masked off from the "miss" stamp in this set.
I added a couple of Eggplant candy dots in the top corners.
I think this would be a great Anniversary card or Wedding Card or when you want to tell someone you care,
Love is.........__________

Thanks for stopping by today.

Freshly Made Sketches.....You Are So Kind

Happy Thursday Peeps!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I love the Farmers Market DSP in particular the gingham prints in the pack. I used the Blackberry Bliss Gingham along with another piece of DSP from the same pack for my jumping off point for this card.

I really wanted to use the Flower Patch stamp set with its matching dies. I got this set last year and had never used it. So I was determined to use it today.

Some days you hit the mark and other days it is just eh!

Not as thrilled with this card as I wanted to be but it is OK.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake card stock then a layer of Naturals card stock.
The flowr is stamped several times with Blackberry Bliss and cut out and layered with dimensionals.
The top layer is stamped off once to get the lighter appearance.
The leaves are stamped with Wild Wasabi and hand cut out.

I made my tag using the scallop top tag topper punch.

The sentiment is from the Watercolor Wings stamp set.
I added some Blackberry Bliss ribbon along with a vanilla vintage button to the top of the tag.

I finished up with a few gold sequins.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Freshly Made Sketches.....Birthday Wishes

Hello Peeps!!

I had a bit of time yesterday to play at my craft table so I took a peek at this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.

What a fun sketch huh? I decided right away to use some pretty flowers for the circle elements in the sketch, (no surprise there).
I pulled out the Birthday Blossoms stamp set from Stampin Up. love that big flower and the Pansy Punch makes it simple to punch them out.

I stamped the flower three times onto some white card stock and then stamped the leaves three times as well, I colored with Rich Razzleberry, Delightful Dijon, and the leaves are Mossy Meadow. I used my Aqua Painter to color the blossoms and leaves.

The base of the card is white card stock then a layer of Basic Black, I then used another layer of white that I embossed with the Brick Wall EF.

The flowers are mounted onto the embossed piece with dimensionals,
I used two stacked together for center flower to raise it up more than the two other flowers.
I then cut out the leaves and tucked them around the flowers.

This set comes with some really nice sentiments but I opted to use the sentiment from the Build a Birthday stamp set on here.
I stamped with Versamark and then used some white embossing powder.
I hand cut the points in the end and curled it a bit. I added the sentiment panel under the flowers using a few dimensionals. I then used a button and twine to embellish the end of the sentiment piece.
The pretty vintage looking button comes from a retired Artisan kit.

Sweet Sunday...Happy Birthday

Happy Sunday Peeps!!
Time for a new sketch at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge Blog

Here is our sketch for you this week:

This is a great sketch to use some of those big bold sentiments that are popular right now.
I pulled out my Stampin Up Hostess set called Happy Birthday Everyone for my sentiment.
The gorgeous DSP is from the Painted Petals 6 x 6 paper pad.
I pulled the colors from the paper and used Basic Black and Calypso Coral along with some Very Vanilla for my card.

The sentiment is stamped with Black Memento ink onto the Vanilla card stock and then matted with some Coral card stock.
I added the small wide banner at the bottom in Coral as well.

I then used my Butterfly thinlit and Bold Butterfly dies to cut out my Butterfly layers. I added the butterfly at the top corner of the sentiment piece to represent the circle in the sketch.
I added three basic pearls down the butterfly center.
This card came together very quickly and was probably one of the quickest cards I have ever put together, I am a fairly slow stamper, (like molasses really) and generally angst over all my details, but I just decided to go simple with this and let the DSP do all the work.

Crazy 4 Challenges.....happy birthday

Happy Saturday Peeps!!

Time for a new challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges.

This week is a sketch:

I am seriously loving this Stampin Up set called Garden in Bloom!
I generally fall hard for the sets I can color, but this one is so fun and I love the results you get, and so fast and easy!

I used Rose Red ink for my flower and the leaves are Garden green.
I used a couple of retired items here, rose red seam binding for my bow and the sweet little Rose Red flower on the sentiment panel.

Sweet Sunday......hello

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Here is the sketch for this week:

I started off by coloring the pretty flower in the Stampin Up "You've Got This" stamp set.
The leaf is from the Remarkable You stamp set.
I stamped the flower and leaf with black stazon and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads. I used Melon Mambo and Mossy Meadow Inks, the center of the flower is colored with some Hello Honey and Delightful Dijon. I fussy cut them out and layered them onto my white die cut circle.

The base of the card is Basic Black card stock and then a layer of White and then the DSP on her is from the Everyday Chic paper pack.
Next I used a strip of Melon Mambo card stock and then a small strip of glimmer paper

For the sentiment I used the thinlits Greetings. I die cut several, I think 5 and glued them all together.
I then covered them with Crystal Effects.
I love the look. I used s few of the brights sequins, tho they don't show really well on the card. I put a small pearl into the center of the sequin.
Be sure and head over to the Sweet Sunday Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this fun sketch.

Crazy 4 Challenges....Open Heart

Happy Saturday Peeps!

time for another new challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges Blog.

This week the challenge is  CRITTERS
Put one or more critters on your card or project.

Easy enough, I hope my bird and butterflies counts as critters.... :)

I started with a base of Crumb Cake card stock. The DSP is from the Farmers Market pack.
I stamped the image from the Open Heart stamp set directly onto the DSP and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads.
I stamped the bird image onto some scrap paper and colored and cut it out.
I  ended up stamping the leaves images onto scrap paper and cutting out and adding over the image on the DSP because I didn't like the dark lines from the wood panels showing through. A bit tedious to cut out but I liked it better.

I created a nest for my bird with some twine and added it to the base with some glue dots. I then added the bird with some dimensionals.
The butterflies are from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set and cut out and added them to the base.
I added a few pearls down the center of the butterflies.
The sentiment is stamped with black onto the crumb cake piece and then added to the base and wrapped around the side.
Be sure to head over to the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog to see what the rest of the girls did with this fun challenge!

Freshly Made sketches.....Happy Birthday

Happy Friday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week at the Freshly Made Sketches Blog:

I had fun with this sketch, I did not use squares as shown in the sketch graphic, but opted for some pretty blue flowers and some circles.

I stamped two of the flowers from the Garden in Bloom set using some Marina Mist ink and then used black on the outline stamp.
I used Wild Wasabi for the leaves and some Daffodil Delight for the flower centers and the butterfly.

The sentiment is from the Hostess set called Happy Birthday, Everyone I love this big sentiment and it was perfect for this card.

The circle elements behind the flowers are made using my circle dies stacked together.
I cut two open circle and then cut them apart and tucked them in around the flowers.
I added a few basic rhinestones around the flowers and down the middle of the little butterfly.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

HAPPY STAMPING!!!

Paper Players....Feeling Special Today

Happy Wednesday Peeps!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge this week The Paper Players.
The Great Outdoors:

I guess it is no big surprise to you my blog readers that I used flowers for my outdoor card.
I am a huge fan of Black Eye Susans, and they are in bloom everywhere here right now, so that is what I decided to use on my card.
I pulled out the fun new set called Garden In Bloom. I stamped using Hello Honey, Choclate Chip and Old Olive inks.

I love that cute llittle bee in this stamp set. I covered his wings with a bit of stickles, and I also used some on the flower center.
The DSP I used on here is from the Farmers Market paper pack.
I cut my circle element using two circle dies stacked together and held in place with the magnetic platform, which made it easy to get a uniform circle.
The sentiment is from the same set.
I think it is great for a birthday or just whenever you want to let someone know you think they are special!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Stampin!!

Happy Sunday Peeps!!

Time for another new sketch challenge over at Sweet Sunday Sketch Blog,

This week is PICK A FAVORITE, find a sketch from the past that you would like to rework and give new life

You can find all the past sketches HERE

I picked sketch #246

A couple of weeks ago I colored up a couple of these flowers from the Stampin Up Best Thoughts Hostess stamp set, you saw one of them yesterday that I did in purples and this one is done in pinks.

I colored using Strawberry Slush ink and my aqua painter.
I LOVE, LOVE LOVE coloring this flower, I think this set is my favorite of the new catalog, so far anyway, there always seems to be one flower set that I love to color. :)

This one I actually colored twice and cut out and popped up with a few dimensionals.
the flower head anyway, the leaves are just cut and glued to the base leaving the bottom portion of the leaves unglued to allow me to curl them a bit.

The base of the card is Naturals card stock and then a layer of Strawberry Slush
and then the flower panel. I rounded the top corners using the corner rounder on the envelope punch board.
The sentiment is from the Fabulous Four stamp set, I added a pink button, retired I think, and some of the fun new metallic thread looped around and behind the button.
Now be sure and head over to the CHALLENGE BLOG to see what the rest of the girls did with this fun challenge!

Hoo-Ray Treat Pails!!

Happy Friday Peeps!!

Popping in here quickly to share some cute little treat pails I made.
My wonderful friend Wendy form WeeBeeStampin4Fun challenged me a while back to use these pails again, (you may remember our challenge back in February with these pails, you can see THAT POST HERE).

So challenged accepted, even tho I was down to the very last minuted doing these, I think they turned out cute.
I have a lot to live up to with Wendy, I feel she is the queen of the treat makers, she makes treats for all the holidays and they are always sooooo cute!!

So anyway, I went off to Michael's and found me a few more of these pails to decorate.
I just got these three done, I used Real Red and Night of Navy and the striped paper is some from an old Paper Pumpkin kit.

The stamps are from the Be the Hero stamp set. such a fun set with the stars and cute sayings.

On the first one I used the Night of Navy card stock and embossed it with the Lucky Stars EF.
I added the string of stars around the top, which is also from the same Paper Pumpkin kit that the striped paper came from

To all the pails I made a little key chain type sentiment holder using the Hoo-Ray stamp and added it to the bottle cap with some dimensionals.  I used my Crop a dial to punch the hole for the chain and the pails come with a little washer that is used to open the lid on the pail. It is on the chain as well.

This one used the Real Red card stock  that is embossed with the Lucky Star EF as well.

This one has the striped DSP and the celebrate is from the Endless Birthday Wishes set.

I made pom poms for the top of these with red, white and blue yarn and I added a bow to each one using some of the silver 1/4" ribbon.
The stars are stamped and added with dimensionals as well. I layered more stars over the top of a couple and stamped stars on one of them, all from the same stamp set.

Another little shot of all three:
I didn't have any chocolates on hand (they are a no-no for me right now) but I did find some of these cute little red and white striped mints in the cabinet and they fit the theme so win, win!!!

Be sure and head over to Wendy's BLOG to see what she did with this creative challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today

HAPPY STAMPIN!!!
